1971 MGB-GT WITH OVERDRIVE TRANSMISSION This is a fairly nice driver, not a show car, and has had a lot of recent mechanical work. It drives well and is a lot of fun. On nice days, I’ve been driving it one day per week to work (40 mile round trip) and for running around on the weekends with no problems. However, I’m selling it to help pay for a TR8 that I found. (One British car and one British motorcycle is enough at one time.) ENGINE AND DRIVETRAIN The engine runs very well with no noises or smoke; and solid oil pressure. The engine is equipped with the original SU dual carburetors. . The transmission is a 4-speed manual with electric overdrive which works well. The rear axle does not whine or clunk. New Engine parts include: New water pump, thermostat, fan belt, and flushed radiator. New ANSA exhaust system SUSPENSION New V8 style lower arm inner bushings All new kingpin bushings and seals New sway bar bushings Lever arm shocks were flushed and filled with new fluid; they work well and do not leak. The steering rack has new tie rod ends and rack boots. Rear suspension has new Victoria British leaf springs and new front and rear spring bushings. Telescopic shock kit replaces the the rear lever arm shocks; New rebound straps BRAKES Master cylinder has been rebuilt New front brake calipers New front brake rotors which are drilled and slotted units Front wheel bearings and seals are new New front brake hoses New rear brake hose The rear brakes have new wheel cylinders and new shoes installed with all new Victoria British springs, clips, etc. WHEELS AND TIRES Custom 14x6 wheels and new Lemans 185/60-14 tires. INTERIOR The dash was fitted with a dash cap before I purchased the car. The seats and door panels are in good condition (however door panels have been modified for speakers) New carpet and new MG logo rubber floor mats. The gauges are functional with the exception of the odometer (speedometer works but odometer does not; odometer shows 95k miles.)
