1979 Honda Gold Wing

I am selling a gorgeous 1979 GL1000. Many are for sale but this one takes the cake. I feel that this bike has everything that people want on their GL1000's but never get around to doing. It has a very modern look with classic retro styling. The yellow paint alone is a head turner. I lowered the bars and added the sought after Corbin Gunfighter seat to get away from the sit up straight touring bike and make it more into a sport cruiser. The hard saddlebags are genuine Hondaline and I have never seen them before or after getting the bike. I put on Randakks suggested Battleax tires (200 miles on them) for added grip and stability. This bike is a wonderful ride with an early spring tuneup meaning no pops or backfires during acceleration or deceleration. The front brake was overhauled in the winter with all new seals and pads as well as a stainless brake hose. This bike was garaged by the former owner (about 25 years) and by me. I have had the bike since August 08 and I use it for commuting to work a couple days a week (20 miles each way). This bike comes with many extras because I am getting out of riding. The rear luggage rack was actually for three bags. I cut off the back rack (Can very easily be reattached with four tack welds) to give the bike a cleaner look. So you also get the back rack, third bag and passenger backrest with leather Honda bag attached. (PICTURE SHOWING ALL BAGS AND RACK IS AN OLD PICTURE, THE SEAT IN THE PICTURE DOES NOT COME WITH THE BIKE) If you want to make this back into a full touring bike it also comes with the original bars and windshield. For cold weather riding you get the clear hand windshields. AAANNNDDD I will also give you a pair of black rear view mirrors, cateye stop lights, 2 bullet lights, a trickle charger, spark plugs, a new starter with keys (thought I needed it) small front fender primed for painting and the original radiator gaurds primed for painting. That is everything you could possibly need or want for this bike. Here is my full disclosure on what I know that the bike has or needs; the battery charges fine but gets on the low side with excessive stop and go driving , the chrome is in excellent shape on the fenders, headlight and instrument bezels, slight pitting on brake light mount, pitting and surface rust on headers, slight pitting on underside of mufflers. The odometer was changed in the fall because it stopped working. Reads 39,000 actual 46,000. The rear brake needs to have the pistons greased. They will only come with the sale if the sale reaches $2300.00 or higher. Also, the fork seals were redone in the fall. And cosmetically, the third bag (not on the bike) has scratches along the bottom of it which will need paint.
