Vehicle Detail

I RIDE THIS BIKE EVERY DAY AND UPDATE MY LISTING ACCORDINGLY, SO PLEASE, EVEN IF YOU READ IT BEFORE, READ ENTIRE AUCTION LISTING BEFORE BIDDING!!!!Last of the Single Overhead Cams!!! Up for sale is my 1982 Honda CB650.  Though I thinks it's more of a Dark Metallic Burgundy, Honda calls it Candy Muse Red. Not to be confused with Honda's Candy Bourgogne (French for burgundy) Red.  You can call it whatever you like for $1500. This bike is currently registered, inspected, and with clear title in hand. Approximately 24,500 miles (I ride it every day so milage will change). Always stored inside, in a heated garage (air conditioned in the summer to prevent moisture). Serviced at regular intervals with regular maintenance, including oil and oil filter changes. Cold starter but a minute or 2 with the choke gets it purring. In tip top shape and ready to be ridden off the lot. 99.5% original stock or OEM, with the exceptions being the new, more heavy duty, nickel plated Tsubaki O-ring chain and new JT/Sun (OEM spec) sprockets on both front and rear. A few nuts have been replaced with zinc plated American made nuts. I took it almost completely apart last year and cleaned and polished it , including all the case covers to a near mirror finish. This bike is in excellent condition, considering it's almost 30 years old. Very clean with only minor cosmetic rusting. A nut here and there, the starter cover (some things just seem to be made to rust). I rate it a 8.5-9 out of 10. All the chrome is in great shape with only minor pitting in a few spots on the front fender. There is a dime size dent in the front fender from a wrench being tossed across my workshop (come to dinner means come to dinner!). And a little rust on one of the headlight ears. The front of the headers have a little rust but the pipes and mufflers are in excellent condition. These are the original 4 into 2 mufflers. This bike roars, but the baffles keep it from being obnoxious (it runs so smoothly, a few Harley guys poke fun by asking when am I going to turn it on). The seat has already seen some repair and does have a tear in it but it's nothing a little tape or Gorilla glue wouldn't fix.  I will also include an extra seat base and cushion ready to be upholstered with an additional original chrome trim still in perfect shape. You could re-upholster it and never have any downtime. The gas tank is spotless inside. Petcock has been professionally restored and is in excellent working order. The outside is in very good condition with only a few nicks and blemishes and one minor dent that is hardly noticable ( from when I was polishing and cleaning the tank, it fell off it's perch, ironically). I was going to paint it but instead buffed out most of the  scratches. I planned to simply clear coat it. The side covers are intact and polished to near mint condition shine. All emblems and insignias (Honda wings and CB650) are intact and included, but I removed them when polishing the tank and side covers and never put them back on. Personally, I like it better that way.  The tires are in OK condition. A little cracking on the front. I will include brand new front and rear (OEM) Bridgestone Spitfire (all black) tires for an additional $100. I will put them on for you with new tubes for another $150.  3 of the keys to this bike are hand carved and one of a kind.  This bike is a great city bike that handles the highway with no problems. It gets a lot of compliments (even from Harley guys) for good reason. It's styling (it's totally bad), it's condition (I take care of it), and it's age (it's vintage and you could even get historical plates for it). Plus I get to say, "Last of the single overhead cams", a la Mad Max style. Did I mention it flies through the air at subsonic speed? I have invested a lot of time and energy in this bike. I use it daily and enjoy it a great deal. If you have any questions, feel free to email me and I'll usually get back to you that day. A bid is a contract, so please ask any questions BEFORE you bid. 0 bidders/ 0 feedback, please contact me before bidding. I can get you more pictures if you have specific inquiries but otherwise, what you see is what you will get. This is not a mint condition bike. This is a well cared for and kept, daily riding bike. Due to the age of this motorcycle, it is being sold as is. Contact me before bidding and I will deliver it almost anywhere in the continental US for $150 + $1.50 per mile, paid in advance/depending on my schedule. I will ride it right to your front door. Otherwise, you will have to pick it up or make arrangements for it yourself. A payment of $100 is required within 48 hours of auction's end. Final payment required within 7 days or deposit will be returned minus my listing fee, so if your not going to buy it, don't bid on it. 7/26/2010-  The speedometer cable is acting up and may need to be replaced. I've ordered a new one. (I will put it on if you want the new tires on as well, otherwise I will include it as an extra).
