This is an original 1961 SAAB 96 2 Stroke California Survivor. This car has not seen any winters that have stressed the intgrity of the body or frame and is in very good condition. You can see in the pictures that the body as well as the floor pans are in excellent condition. This SAAB runs well and has a 3 speed manual transmission on the column. The interior is in good shape, no cracks in the dash and the seats are good as well as the door panels. The roof felt (sound deadening material) is in place, however the head liner is not in the car. We have the headliner for the car but it is in need of a good upholsterer to fit a new fabric to the metal rods. The car has front disc brakes that work but pedal spongey. The engine runs strong and the transmission shifts as it should. The free wheeling works as designed. This is an excellent original non restored SAAB 96. The paint is fair but to properly restore this car to its original condition should be redone. The car also has the SAAB dog dish hub caps all in excellent condition. Given the age of the car and the fact that it has been stored for several years we would recommend that it be trailered to its new home. Depending on where it goes we may be able to arrange delivery on my brother in laws trailer for a gas and toll fee.
