Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a beautifully restored 1955 Chevrolet first series pickup. The restoration of this truck was completed by Harwoods Barn. A three man team commenced the restoration process over the past five months, and it was just completed last week. This 55 Chevy looks, runs, rides, and sounds great. At Harwoods Barn we specialise in classic vehicle restorations; This truck was professionaly restored with close attention to detal; This is NOT an amature, "bondo-buggy," restoration. We purchased the truck after it came in from Los Angeles, California. The truck was an excellent canidate for a full restoration because of its amazing condition. All the metal was solid, and clear of dents; This truck was clearly not used on the farm back in 1955. I have the old California title that will go with the sale of the truck. In restoring the truck everything was either refurbished/refinished or orderned NEW. The body was totaly dissasembled, sandblasted, primed, painted, and reassembled. The frame was painted with POR15 rust prohibiting paint. I have attahed a few pictures of the restoation process. All pictures will go with the sale of the vehicle. This truck runs and rides better than when it was purchase new, back in 1955. A Camaro front clip, and rear end were added, to include front disk brakes, and rear air shocks. This truck rides smoothly down the road, and the power disk brakes stop the truck on a dime. The steering column is out of a 90's Chevrolette pickup. The power steering is tight and responsive without any of that old sloppy play. The engine is a Chevrolet 350. It was rebuilt approximatly 2000 miles prior to placing it in the truck. The motor runs smooth and strong, and does NOT leak a drop of fluid. The new dual Flowmaster exhaust provides a nice low rummble. The automatic transmission shifts smooth and tight without any problems. The truck is rolling on new Cragar chrome weels and new BF Goodrich tires. All the oringinal wiring was removed from the truck, and a new wiring-harness is now in its place. Also a new electric wiper motor, and heater were added to this little 55. The old gauges were replaced with white faced Dolphin gauges (look extremly sharp). Everything on this truck works to include lights, directionals, wipers, horn, ect. After restoration, the truck was road-tested approximatly 10 miles to assure everything was working, and handeling properly. The body was professionaly painted base-coat clear-coat, and then baked. The color is Chevrolette Corvette red. It has an amazing shine, and is a real head-turner. Before placing the body back together all new mouldings and rubber weatherstippings were added. All new oak was added to the bed, and finished off using a boat urithane to outlast the weather (has a real nice shine). All the body panels flow toghter perfectly. There are no dings or dents on this truck. This is as fresh as a truck gets after a restoration. All this 55 pickup needs is a new owner, and it is ready for cruising. At Harwoods Barn we specialise in vehicle restorations. Our team takes great pride in our work, and we always have a close eye on the attention to details. No corners were cut in the restoration of this little 55 Chevy pickup, and the final product is truly beautiful. This truck must be seen in person to be fully appreciated.
