Vehicle Detail
I purchased the car in October, 2005 from another Fiat enthusiast. It's been a great car. It had 44,000 miles on it when I purchased it. It now has just 51,640. I've put about 8k on it in nearly 5 years. Those miles have been mostly highway miles. It has been garaged otherwise. Repairs/improvements since I've owned the car: (Documentation available for all of the following) • Regular oil changes and tune-ups, antifreeze and necessary fluid changes • Replaced tie rod and tie rod ends • Replaced distributor vacuum • Replaced back up light (reverse) switch • Replaced front brake hoses • Replaced battery hold-down • Replaced right side power window switch • Replaced starter • Replaced battery • Just before I got the car, previous owner had replaced the distributor gasket, cam box gasket and head gasket (documented) Wheels and tires/aesthetic improvements: • Installed Panasport 15x6 wheels with 205/55WR -15 Bridgestone Potenzas. Tread is like new. Wheels are without blemish. • Installed Momo Monte Carlo steering wheel • Replaced passenger side sun visor Included extra: • New, still in package, Pininfarina side body emblems – the metal kind, very classy, very expensive • New black vinyl shift boot • New Pininfarina Spider Azura trunk badge • Original Fiat steering wheel • Owner's manual (from different year, most all applies), and an aftermarket complete wiring and service manual • Three sets of keys – main plastic key on nice Fiat key ring • Battery "tender" (low voltage trickle to battery keeps it fresh and ready to start) • Car cover Other notable after market add-on items:• A previous owner replaced the luggage box with a conventional Spider back seat, side vents and custom mirrors. All were done professionally and look original. • The stereo system is after market with new speakers and a remote controlled Alpine stereo/CD player with removable face plate • Ansa exhaust system • Fire extinguisher installed in the trunk Items that I would want you to know: • There is a clicking sound when car is in gear in reverse. I was told what this is by the previous owner, (I don't recall what he said it was), but that it was not an issue that would ever cause a problem. He has been right so far, it's never been a problem – you just hear the clicking sound. • There is a spot on the driver side door where a small body repair was done when the edge of the door received a slight dent. The repaired spot was not finished correctly paint-wise. It may not show up in the photos, but if I were to keep the car, I would have the spot re-painted. • The dashboard is sun-cracked.• The paint is good – very shiny. /But again, it's an '85. It has a few rock dings. It is the original paint, as far as I know, but it has been garaged and still looks really good as you can see in the photos.• The shift boot's sewn seam has come undone slightly, but I am including a replacement shift boot. Summary: I have taken good care of the car for the past 5 years. The owner before me also took very good care of the car. It has been driven very little since I've owned it. It's been garaged most of its life. Of course, it is an '85, and with most any '85, it shows some signs of its age. Overall, the car is in very good condition. I can go out and start the car after it's sat idle for months and it will invariably fire up instantaneously. It always surprises me the way it does this. It's fuel injected, does not burn oil or smoke. The driver's seat back cushion shows some wear but is still intact, not torn. Other upholstery is very good - no tears anywhere. Carpet and carpeted mats are in very good condition. Top is good. Rear plastic window is clear, no yellowing or clouding. The trunk floor is neat and clean. The engine compartment is about as clean as any I have seen anywhere, except for those who have spent big bucks re-painting and customizing the engine. All instruments, lights, heater, wipers, signals, clock, Stereo/CD player, windows and other electronic items work perfectly. And lastly, I have seen no rust on the car.
