Vehicle Detail
Drive Anywhere. A fabulous highway car. This Eldorado is in excellent mechanical condition and recently passed the stringent state inspection. A title is not required for a 1972 vehicle in Maine. I have my original bill of sale and will provide purchaser with a new one. I also have the original dealership inspection form from 1972. Owners and Shop manuals are included. Interior is all original and in beautiful condition. The leather is still soft. The steering wheel has the usual two expansion cracks, but otherwise, the interior shows extremely well. There is no wear on the carpet. Original matching floor mats in excellent condition are included - just not shown in pictures. The vinyl roof is original and in very good condition, though it is time it was repainted again. I have owned the car since it had 29,000 miles. Originally, it was owned by a company and used little. Even the rear air shocks are original and work correctly. The 8.2L engine performs very well, the transmission is smooth as new. It has the 1975 HEI ignition for better engine performance. Tune-up is simple. I get 15 mpg on the highway and about 12 in town. 72 is a good year because it is meant to run on unleaded, but does not have a catalyst (later year catalysts are no longer available in original style). It is also just one step below the 1970 in performance. The air conditioning needs a new dryer and recharge. I had the gas tank permanently sealed and coated. The underside of the car is excellent. There is a bubble circle in the paint on the left door which should be fixed and the lower front fenders should be redone. Everyone comments on the beautiful firemist paint which shows shades from gold to bronze in different light conditions. Color is: Patrician Covert Firemist Metallic. It has an Alpine stereo system with cassette. The original radio is included. The car has a brand new set of correct whitewall tires from American Classic. They have high treadwear and performance ratings. The original, unused, bias-ply spare is in the trunk. I am moving and must sell. Reserve is set below current value. On Jul-06-10 at 16:04:38 PDT, seller added the following information: I will be happy to procure a title from the Maine DMV for anyone who needs one to import to Canada or Europe or if you need one in another State. I had to do this for a 1956 Fleetwood I sold to someone in Canada. On Jul-12-10 at 08:40:21 PDT, seller added the following information: I have lowered the reserve. The last auction close was not far off. Everyone that has seen the car tells me that my original price is a steal and below average retail, but it must sell soon. The auto-dimming works excellent. I am including a center front bumper section I purchased in case I ever needed it. The radio is an Alpine with base-boost and I recently installed a new set of 6x9 tri-speakers for the rear. The original radio (not stereo) is in a box in the trunk. I am confident in the mileage since I replaced the original belts and installed grease fittings at 29,000 miles. The front end remains very tight and it also has the original rear air shocks. The original front mat has very little wear (same for the brake and gas pedals) consistent with the mileage. Please bid with confidence.
