Vehicle Detail

1965 Impala SS Convertible Serial No: 16675Y222199 Fully functional convertible with Big Block power, 3 speed automatic transmission, Super Sport trim and interior. This Chevrolet Impala was acquired in 1986 by the late brother of the current owner who performed a frame-off rebuild. The SS Convertible was originally a small block-power glide machine that had a 396 big-block in it when we towed it home. The build included cowl repairs, floor pan, trunk pan and frame repair. A rebuilt 402 and TH400 3 speed auto transmission were installed. The car was completed by 1995 with new metallic blue paint and SS interior including console, bucket seats and floor shifter, Rallye wheels, and engine compartment appointments appropriate to the period street machines. Since then the car has been driven regularly and is operated and stored out of doors. The Seller takes it to the local cruise-ins and annual Father’s Day car show (pictures), and is always recipient of appreciative reviews. New convertible top pump/motor and carpet, the interior is sharp and comfortable. The engine and transmission are strong and run very well. Engine has GM aluminum intake, Holley 4 barrel carburetor, Delco electronic ignition and period GM iron exhaust headers with custom exhaust. Rust has returned to components of the car that weren’t replaced in 1995 (fender extensions, driver door/quarter, deck lid) as is common with these outdoor convertibles. It has had 3 new tops and is ready for another. It has been driven approximately 53,000 miles since the rebuild. The SS Impala Convertible looks good and is a nice non-#match big block street cruiser with all the proper SS features. A new owner with the ability to perform the body work and paint will be rewarded with years of fine top down driving pleasure. Seller has a full set of original spinner SS hubcaps, extra pair of 8x15 Rallye wheels, extra pair of used front and rear bumpers and a set of 1965 VA vintage license plates that come on the car (registration transfer required). Virginia title is clear and ready to transfer. The $12,500 asking price is negotiable but this Impala Convertible holds that value as a complete functioning Super Sport with all appropriate trim and a strong big block Chevy drive train and suspension. Deposit by Paypal or full payment with cash/certified check prior to arrival of shipper or when you come drive it away. Purchaser must arrange for shipper if desired.
