Up for auction is a 1966 Buick Gran Sport convertible.1 of 2047 built.Car was originally came from Colorado and ended up in Georgia until 2003 and has been in Michigan and owned by my Father since 2005.White with red interior.Odometer shows 61,647 miles. Some features include: Power steering,power brakes,power driver seat,tilt wheel and a power convertible top..An AM/FM cd player has been added under the dash as well as a Sunpro tach and a Autometer water temp gauge. BODY: Very solid as expected from a Western/Southern car.Boxed frame is nice.Clean and dry floor pans and trunk as well as the core support.No detectable filler on the body panels.Convertible top has been replaced a few years ago and is in very good shape and the plastic back window is clear.A new convertible boot cover is also included.Car has been painted at one point and is driver quality.The simulated hood scoops and fender pieces are present as well.All other emblems and trim are present and in good shape except for the trim above and below the tail panel which have a couple of dents.Front bumper is straight and chrome is good.Rear bumper was replated before ownership but has a crease and is pushed out slightly.Car is a nice looking driver that gets compliments whenever driven. MECHANICAL: 401 4bbl with ST300 automatic transmission and 10 bolt rear axle.Block code stamping is: 4J40 36877.Recent updates include:New 4 core radiator and dual electric fans,2 1/2 dual exhaust with 40 series Flowmaster mufflers.Engine is quiet with no abnormal noises,smoke or knocking.Runs like a Nailhead should:Torquey and sounds great with the exhaust.Master cylinder and all 4 wheel cylinders and the rear brake line over the axle have been replaced along with new shocks all the way around.Car rides on later model 14" Buick Rally wheels with Uniroyal white letter tires with very nice tread.Car had a recent safety inspection and was shown to be safe and in working order. INTERIOR: Appears to be all original except for the Buick Sport wheel with a leather wrap which replaced the cracked two spoked original.Seat covers are sun faded but not ripped.Rear seat and panels faded but in nice shape.Dash pad has a crack (very common with these cars).Door panels are driver quality.All windows roll up and down properly and the console is in nice shape. This GS is a great fair weather driver or could be the basis for a frame off "Day One" type of restoration. Reserve is set very fairly.
