Vehicle Detail

This auction is for a beautiful 1951 Ford pickup. This truck looks runs, rides, and sounds absolutly amazing. This is a get in, turn key, street rod that could be comfortably driven coast to coast. The truck was professionally restored with great attention to detail, and no corners were cutt. At Harwoods Barn we specialize in classic car and hot rod restorations, and sales. I purchased this truck from the original fabricator last winter. The full restoration was completed in 2004; I replaced the motor and completed on over-haul of the rod after purchasing it, in December. The exterior of the vehicle is a true head turner. The cab was chopped 2 1/2". The front-end and bed are steal, and the fenders are fiberglass. The body is straight as an arrow; This is NOT an amature bondo-buggy abomination. The bed and running boards were proffesionaly fabricated at a metal shop. The body on this truck flows together smooth and tight. The paint job is base-coat clear-coat, and still has an amazing shine. Since the restoration has been completed, the truck has always been stored inside, and given its healthy dose of wax. The rod was painted in 04 so it does show some minor signs of age; minor chipping, but nothing major. You realy need to get close and search for a flaw. I had the tonneau cover proffesionaly fabricated over the winter. The floor of the bed was padded with grey carpet, and two seatbelts were installed, for passengers (children/grandchildren). The cragar wheels and tires are new. This is truely a beautiful truck that must be seen, in person, to be fully appreciated. This interior mirrors the condition of the exterior. Bucket seats, door pannels, floor, and headliner are all grey. The fabric is spotless clean, and passengers can ride comfortably. The entire dash, gauges, wiring harness, and 5-speed shifter were taken out of a 1986 Chevrolet Camaro. Everything works and looks amazing. The dash was fitted perfectly. Ammenties for the interior include power windows, power locks, remote power windows, Sony CD AM/FM, and ICE COLD air conditioning. The interior looks great, and also is very comfortable for the occupants. This little rod runs, and rides excellent. The front clip and rear-end were taken out of a 1986 Chevrolet Camaro. The truck rides down the road straight, and eats up any bumps in the road, making it a comfortable cruiser. The truck also recieved power disk brakes, in the front, with a power booster; The truck will stop when you want it to! The 5-speed transmission is also out of a 1986 Camaro. It shifts smooth and tight without any problems. When I purchased the truck, in December, it had a 305 engine from the 86 Camaro. I replaced this with a rebuilt 327 motor. This motor had originaly been in a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette. The casting numbers on the block are: 3892657. The 327 motor was totaly rebuilt and recieved new crank, bearings, 400 heads, and roller rockers. I also added a new clutch and fly-wheel when installing the new motor. This truck runs smooth, leaks nothing, and is very powerfull. It rides down the highway like a new car; In 5th gear, at 70 MPH, the tach is only at 2000 RPM's! The Flowmaster dual exhaust provides that great street rod rummble. Everything on this truck works to include gauges, lights, wipers, remote entry, AC, .....everything. This truck could be driven cross-country without a problem. This is a great little 51 Ford pickup. It realy must be seen to be fully appreciated. This truck recieved an award for placing in the top 25, at a car show in Manchester NH. At that show there were 400+ cars. The new owner will not be dissapointed, and will surley make some heads turn. At Harwoods Barn we specialize in auto restorations and sales. We have recieved excellent feedback by providing quality work, and honest descriptions. For more about our business and location click the, "Me," logo at the top of this page. This vehicle will be kept in my climate controlled garage until the completion of the sale. The buyer is responsable for arranging shipping. An excellent shipper that I have used in the past is - http://www.horselesscarriage.com. I may consider delivering the truck, within NewEngland, for an additional fee, but this must be discussed prior to the end of the auction. The vehicle will be sold with a clear title. Please E-mail me with any questions, and thank you for the interest- Harwoods Barn.
