Vehicle Detail

For Sale is a 1976 Chevy 1/2 ton stepside pickup. The truck was purchased in California in 1994 and has been in Nebraska since, but not driven in salt. The truck had a partial restoration in 1997 including: new front fenders and skirts, new doors and windsheild, and sunvisor. The origin of the motor (as of 1994 when I bought it) is unknown, but it is your typical V8 350. I added an edelbrock carb, newer plug wires, and a new radiator. It has a fairly new starter and a new battery just this year. It has a set of headers that have some cracks at the collection point, so it does have exhaust noise leakage. The exhaust is 2 1/2" aluminum straight pipes with about 24" long turbo tube mufflers for a nice loud sound. The tires are 32", new in 1994 and about 50%. The front axle has had new ball joints and lock out hubs and brakes. The body is lifted 2" and the front leaf springs had an additional couple inches with longer leaf hangers and the rear has 4" blocks under the leaf springs. There are some minor issues that simply need some attention. The rear passenger brake cylinder is leaking. The rear differential has a small grease leak and will need a new seal. The power steering pump leaks and needs a new seal. The transmission shifts firm but does have a weak reverse gear. It's been this way for several years and it hasn't caused any problems for me. The body is in good shape except for the cab corners which have rusted through. The rocker panels are original and very solid. I attached some photos of the underside. The paint on the rear fenders is chipping and fading. I believe that the paint shop that did my paint cut corners on the clear coat on the box. The cab still has a shiny clear coat. I'm selling the truck as I simply don't have time to tinker with it anymore. I bought it when I was young and single and it was a fun project truck that I hope will find another owner. I don't know the original miles, but I have driven it probably a total of 30K miles, most of which were years ago. Recently the truck gets a few miles per year. The motor starts well but does burn oil. Overall the truck looks good and is fun to drive. It does need some work, but it is ready to drive. The photos attached were taken last summer and show the truck from most angles. If you would like additional photos please contact me. In addition, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I did place a reserve on this auction, but it won't take a lot of money to own this truck.
