Vehicle Detail
1949 Cadillac Club Coupe (61-Series 2-Door “Sedanette”) Semi-retro classic automobile. Body very straight with stock 62-Series trim. Black paint has some minor road chips but still looks great with clear reflective deep surface finish. Driver with no body panel rust. Has a rebuilt 1949 331 ci overhead valve V-8 engine with a 3-speed standard transmission (column shift). Very rare; only 2% of Cadillac produced in 1949 were equipped with a standard transmission. Engine equipped with a modern Edelbrock 4-brl carburetor on a 1955 stock manifold, electric and mechanical fuel pumps, high energy ignition (HEI) system, dual exhaust, spin-off canister oil filter, thermostat controlled electric radiator fan, 12-volt alternator, custom valve covers, and “bat-wing” air cleaner. Vehicle has been rewired (Painless Kit) and converted to 12-volt system with halogen head lights. Runs great and provides reliable transportation to wherever it may be driven. Has a higher gear ratio (3:55) third member installed and will cruise all day long at 75 mph and gets about 17 mpg. Solid steel automobile that weighs about 4,000-pounds. Approximately 2,000 of this model were produced in 1949. That doesn’t leave many still available after 60-years, especially in this condition. Actual vehicle mileage unknown, but odometer mileage is 58,888. Interior gray naugahyde. Head liner is in good condition without stains or tears. 3-point seat belts installed in front seat. Has aftermarket voltage, temperature and oil pressure gauges, and tachometer. Windshield glass with rubber seal replaced. Driver's door tinted flat glass is cracked (small corner crack) and will need replacement. “Black Beauty” (B²), as we call it, is equipped with a Vintage Air heater, defroster and air conditioner; and, in-dash stereo that operates a 10-CD changer located in the trunk (extra CD magazine included). Stainless steel, chrome trim and stock Cadillac emblems are intact. Rear bumper will need to be re-chromed for show. Has 1955 El Dorado Saber wheels (chrome aluminum centers riveted to a steel wheel) with new Cooker wide-white-wall tires. Wheel emblems are original 1949 Sombrero hub cap inserts. Brakes all around were rebuilt not long ago, which are in good working order. Vehicle lowered some and the suspension provides a smooth ride; however, shocks are original hydraulic knee-action units and should be refurbished, replaced or modified (install modern shock absorbers) accordingly. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a true American classic automobile that is considered by many to be one of the finest designed automobile ever produced. Model body style was the last of it’s kind in 1949 for Cadillac. A “head turner” wherever it goes. Style that does not need to be altered to provide show quality. Winner of many trophies through years of pleasurable use, having owned this American beauty since 2000 (purchased in Vancouver, WA). Join the fun while driving in style. Shipping cost and arrangement buyer responsibility. Non-refundable $2,000 deposit required upon auction closure, with vehicle picked up or shipped from southeast Washington State upon receipt of full payment.
