Vehicle Detail
1982 Honda CB750F Super Sport. 4 Cylinder. Absolutely beautiful and in practically mint condition. Likely the nicest unrestored original you will see. I will add more description and many pictures tonight (Thursday) or tomorrow morning. I don't have the time this moment but just wanted to get the listing started. Thanks! On Jul-02-10 at 12:56:19 PDT, seller added the following information: Okay, there are the pictures. I will add to the item description later. THANKS!On Jul-05-10 at 21:10:20 PDT, seller added the following information: Sorry I took so long adding to the item description. You know the old saying about trying to put 10 pounds of you-know-what into a 5 pound bag? Well, I have a habit of trying to put 48 hours into a 24 hour bag. Again and again. Never enough time, and being a holiday weekend made matters worse. Anyway, I bought this Honda from a friend. He became the second owner in May of 1985 at 5300 miles. He rode it until the mileage it has now, 12,212 miles. The bike was meticulously maintained and shows it. He added the VERY expensive Corbin seat and the KG backrest/luggage rack. The rear of the backrest also has a zippered compartment. Other than that, it is all stock. Everything is fantastic on it. No leaks. Everything as it should be. Not even weeping fork seals. He was getting older and wound up giving up riding, but he loved his baby, so eighteen years ago, in 1992, he drained the fuel and put the CB IN HIS DOWNSTAIRS FAMILY ROOM, which was, of course, heated and air conditioned. His idea of art. That's why the paint, chrome, aluminum, tank interior, etc., are all so nice. This bike has not been restored and is original other than the two items I mentioned, but it's as close as you're going to get to taking a time machine back to 1982 on something that was actually ridden. It's that nice. It was perfect when put away. Since the carbs and tank were drained at that time, and the choke and throttle both move freely now, after the oil change, I KNOW that all I have to do is install the new battery I just bought, fuel it up, pull the choke, fire it, and it's perfection again. HOWEVER, I never fire up a bike that's been stored a while without lubing the cylinders and pulling the carbs and cleaning the float bowls if it's carbed. If there is any residue and you start the engine, you pull that crap into the jets, etc., then you have to completely rebuild the carbs. I wanted to be able to tell you all how great it ran and I thought I would have been able to make the time for the carbs by now, but I was wrong. Tomorrow (Tuesday) I WILL DO IT. And tomorrow, this bike will be running like new again, as it always did. You will not find a nicer bike than this. Different maybe, but not nicer. I will tell you how great it runs tomorrow. By the way, I may be able to help with delivery if you are between Pittsburgh and Chicago/Milwaukee or between Pittsburgh and Florida, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE OR HAVE BEEN MILITARY. It's the least I can do to say "Thanks". I have family along those routes and it would be an excuse to visit. Thanks! On Jul-06-10 at 21:55:05 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello again! I took the carbs off Tuesday. There was only the slightest bit of residue in the bowls and I cleaned them up. Jets perfect. I then took the float valves, petcock, and vacuum operated fuel inlet valve, and soaked them in gasoline so they could absorb fuel to swell the rubber and seal properly again. I just got home, assembled and bench tested everything. It's all good. But it's too late to re-install and fire the CB. It's 12:55 here and I'm ready to crash. The rest of the good news will have to come Wednesday. THANKS!
