CLEAN CALIFORNIA 1971 VW WESTFALIA CAMPER BUS We are glad to introduce a restored rust free 1971 Volkswagen Westfalia Camper Bus. This Camper turns heads with it's gleaming paint from bumper to bumper. The interior was fitted with all new tan vinyl which complements the color scheme with class. The body was weatherized by new rubber all the way around. The engine and transmission is a very strong power plant sporting mostly stock components. Check out the images as we go through the details. Professionally painted over a solid California body. Original blue and yellow plates. The front of this Bus is just the happiest thing to look at! New windscreen installed and all the original chrome was cleaned. 1971 is the greatest year in this generation of Buses. This is the year VW first installed front disk brakes and went to this wheel and hubcap combination. More Photos This image shows the windscreen rubber to the body showing no rust in the vicinity. This photo is of the driver's side rocker panel which usually tends to rust and here it is clean! You can still can see original spot welds from the factory. Here is the passenger side rocker panel which is also ultra clean and free of rust. Notice the factory spot welds! The pop-top part of the roof is made of fiberglass by Westfalia in Germany and was refinished bolted to the body with all new hardware. This is the rear roof rack which was disassembled, refinished and installed. So nice you won't even want to bolt your luggage up there! New canvas! I added this photo to show the cleanliness of the roof gutters that tend to rust due to water, leaves, etc. All the tires have about 95% of tread and all match with the size of 185-70-14. The engine is a strong running 1600 Dual Port Upright engine (last year for VW Buses to have this type of engine). A couple upgrades to this engine is a electronic ignition (no points to adjust), new exhaust system, and brand new carburetor. This particular Engine is fitted with a bigger oil cooler (standard for this year of Bus only). Engine bay was painted and new battery tray was installed. All original Westfalia camping equipment including rear mosquito net and kids cot that attaches over front seats. All seats were professionally reupholstered. The cockpit is super comfortable! Trimmer added extra padding for more of a Cadillac feel. The front floors are super solid! Typically the first thing people tend to look at when buying a Bus. No problem with this one! Includes stock rubber floor mat (removed the mat to expose the floor for photos). She has a flip down CD player for your enjoyment! All vitals working properly. Loveseat mode. Camper mode. Upstairs has a cot where a camper could snooze off and the three windows in the canvas can be opened two different ways; screen or no screen. There is a clean bus that anybody can enjoy!
