DESCRIPTION: 8' One Ton Olson Kurbmaster Jr. Diesel Step Van Aluminum Body This truck is a 1972 Olson all aluminum body mounted on a Ford chassis. It has a 1984 Mercedes 300SD 5 cylinder turbo diesel engine and transmission which run great. It gets over 20 mph with a light load or empty. I got 17mph loaded and hauling a loaded 10' enclosed trailer on a 250 mile trip. It is a very simple and dependable truck. If you are not comfortable with something that drives like an old jeep, this is not for you. There are no frills or electronic garbage on this truck...it gets from point A to point B. You do get to laugh as you ride down the interstate passing new $50,000 diesel pickup trucks broken down on the side of the road though. The motor has approx 255,000 miles and was removed from a pristine 1984 Mercedes SD that my father owned for 15 years. Injectors and Glowplugs have approx 25,000 miles. These motors are known to go for 400 to 500,000 miles when maintained properly. No electronic garbage on this engine...that means it doesn't have expensive electronic parts to break down and repair like newer diesels. It has manual steering and has a sharp turn radius which will turn circles around most trucks or vans. It has manual brakes. It has no air conditioner or heater installed...open the door to regulate your air. It is very nice to drive and does not blow all over the road like big step vans or box trucks. It cruises at 70mph comfortably. If you like cruisin on a motorcycle or in a jeep with no top, you will like flippin the door open and cruisin down the road in this. It drives and rides like a jeep. LED Tail Lights LED Front Turn Signals Full Gauge Set It has an after market washable air filter system. 16" Aluminum Wheels with BF Goodrich Commercial TAs which are approx 4 years old and have approx 25,000 miles on them. Dana 60 Rearend with Custom Moser Axles... new center section and 455 ring gear set with approx 25,000 miles. The rearend parts cost over $1200. Many newer parts including the front springs. Steel 6" channel bumper on rear with flush reese receiver. Steel 6" channel bumper on front with polished aluminum box covering the front. You also get another running engine and transmission. This motor and trans are from a 1982 300SD. The motor leaks oil from the injection pump seal. The aluminum rear platform is NOT included in this auction. Known issues: This is a 1972 truck and does not have bells and whistles. It has a bad vacuum shutoff valve that needs to be replaced which is about $30. The battery will drain after 2 weeks if not driven which means there is a short somewhere in the system. It has a manual switch to disconnect the battery if its not going to be driven for awhile. The fuel gauge has not been installed. There is no speedometer. you can use a GPS for speed. Sometimes the idle will become rough at very low rpm. Side window has a crack.
