Vehicle Detail

I bought this car in 1969. I used it for about 4 years as my daily driver. It was loaned out for a few years and was parked in 1977. In 2007, I began to "restore" it to be used as a daily driver. Car was first driven again in August 2008. Total miles driven since rebuild approx. <1000.Don't know for sure, as odometer doesn't work. Speedo and tach function. All other guages work. All work was done by me, except machine shop work. Machine shop work done: Engine block cleaned, crankshaft turned, new cam bearings, head milled, new valve seats and bronze guides installed. New valves and springs. New wrist pins fitted to pistons. All new manifold studs. Flywheel resurfaced and new ring gear installed. Additional new engine parts: 87mm bore kit, main and crankshaft bearings, water pump, thermostat, fan belt, hoses, motor mounts, spin on oil filter and adaptor ( still have original canister), generator(new not rebuilt) cap, rotor, points, plug wires, spark plugs (Bosch), coil, rear main oil seal, timing chain and gears, front seal, fan mount kit, electric fuel pump,( I gave up on original reproduction pumps after 4 pumps from different vendors. I believe these pumps are all made by the same sorry manufacturer) all new gaskets. SU Carbs completely rebuilt in March by Chester Gillings in Pueblo,CO(SUcarbs.com). New brake parts: ALL brake lines, including steel braided front hoses. Calipers completely rebuilt with new rubber parts and all new pistons, new springs and rear wheel cylinders. Brake and clutch master cylinders rebuilt, new slave cylinder. New clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing and pilot bushing. All front end bushing parts replaced, ball joints, tie rod ends, etc. Trunions were not replaced as existing ones tight. Still has original shocks, bushings replaced. More new parts: Top (never used), side curtains, not new, but completely rebuilt by The Roadster Factory(never used) 5 New Tires from Discount Tire(with warranties), Electric radiator fan,new steering wheel hub assembly, plus many bolts, nuts, hoses, gaskets and other things I can't think of right now. I drive this car occasionally. It is kept in the garage. It has a clear title and is currently licensed with a current Texas inspection sticker. My big goal was to completely restore with new paint and interior. Instead of doing a frame off restoration, I chose to make it road worthy and drive it first. I have run out of money and enthusiasm. This would be a good start for someone to carry on the restoration. The body is in need of some work. Both front floor panels are rusted. It does have a TR4 transmission which I installed in the mid 70's.Wish I knew where to old one went. Recent new parts:(within last year) battery, voltage regulator, front caliper pistons and kits. Also, have books and manuals that will go with car. If you have any additional questions, ask.On Jun-30-10 at 07:56:55 PDT, seller added the following information: I do have video of engine running. If you wish, send me a message and I will email it to you.On Jun-30-10 at 11:59:12 PDT, seller added the following information:I now have video on Youtube of motor running, search: jrstr3
