Vehicle Detail

1950 Studebaker Champion Starlight Regal Deluxe Coupe This is a very nice example of Studebaker’s stylish starlight coupe. This car has been with its present owner since 1995 and is a completely drivable car. The car does not smoke and always starts; winter or summer. The car does not overheat in summertime driving around town. The clutch operates well and the car is remarkably fuel efficient with the 3-speed manual/OD transmission. All gauges work properly. The car has the Regal Deluxe trim options of carpet, armrests, and sunvisors. Additional options include: Hill-holder clutch Electric overdrive Radio Turn signals Back-up lights. The car has the correct 170 cubic inch flathead 6-cylinder motor, and the actual mileage is unknown. It was repainted tulip cream #2 approximately 20 years ago and it appears the repaint was to the original color. The paint is in good condition and shines up well, although is thinning in a few places and there are some stone chips in the paint from normal driving. The fabric interior and piping were redone about 20 years ago and are still presentable. The headliner is in very good shape. The taillight and brake light bulbs have been replaced with LED bulbs. Ample tread remains on wide whitewall polyglass tires. The battery is older but reliable and the car has the original 6 volt setup. The radio does not work. The steering wheel has cracks and needs restored. The clutch and throwout bearing were replaced, and a new water pump installed less than 1000 miles ago. A new muffler and tailpipe have just been newly installed. Bidders with no bid history may be eliminated. This car is being sold with no warranty, express or implied. Shipping costs and arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. A non-refundable deposit of $1000 from the winning bidder is required within 48 hours of auction close. The remainder is required within 7 working days of auction close. The bidder may pay by PayPal, bank wire transfer, or cashier’s check from a domestic bank.
