Vehicle Detail
You're bidding on a true survivor. This is for a rust free, garage kept hot rod on a no-reserve auction. This car was meticulously built over 40 years ago by an Aircraft fabricator/mechanic. It was then drag raced, shown, and cruised the SoCal area until some time in the 80's, when it was locked in a garage in Pasadena......................until just last year. At that time, it took 5 days of taking stuff out of that garage before this treasure could be released from it's hiding place of all those years. It's full of vintage parts and one-off fabricated pieces. It's powered by a very strong running 365HP 327 from a 64 Vette, complete except intake right down to the Duntov 30-30 stick. It has a close ratio M-21 Muncie that shifts like new, and sandwiched between it and the motor is a vintage Ansen 2-piece bellhousing/scattershield. Also underneath are Hurst/Airheart spot disc brakes, a vintage Stewart Warner electric fuel pump, as well as many one-off fabbed pieces, also many grease-able Heim joints. Inside are race car seats, vintage SW gauges (all working except fuel level), trick clutch linkage, and Impact safety harnesses (Impact pre-dates the Simpson line). Many 3 piece aircraft rivets are used throughout. These had 3 pieces, and one of them purposely breaks off on install to insure equal torque. This thing is just full of thoughtful touches. I'm afraid I'll over look many, so please enjoy the pics. Oh, and notice the Hurst like motor mount machined from aluminum that also mounts the generator. Very cool. This car ran many of the local drag strips, running in the 12's. This car also carries a strong 12 bolt rear end with 3.73 gears. It runs, drives, stops, and steers really well, and is FAST. Also fresh tires all the way around on vintage Astro wheels, with Hurst cheater slicks out back. Buyer arranges and pays shipping from SoCal. 10% non-refundable within 2 days of auction end, and balance in 5 working days. PLEASE don't bid....assuming you'll have the money. Make sure the money's available to you FIRST. Thank you so much On Jun-28-10 at 09:24:28 PDT, seller added the following information: ***********BTW, this car is dark metallic GREEN**********
