Beautiful 1958 Mercedes 219: I’ve had this car for close to ten years myself, and I love it, but it’s time for it to find a new home--sadly, I don’t have time for it anymore. It has: the more powerful dual carb 220 engine (1959) and the wooden interior from the same. Reupholstered a few years ago in deep blue. It has a manual four-speed transmission "on the tree." European driving configuration. Spare tire. Original jack and owner's manual. Original color scheme. Many repair records for the last 30 years. This is not a show car. It runs and drives fine but needs a little love and attention (attention I can no longer give it, hence the sale). As far as I know, it needs: a tune up, some paint, a little care for the drivers seat and the wooden interior, a new turn signal cover and bumper guard, a speedometer cable--little things. The paint has some scratches. The chrome has some discoloration and pitting. The clock does not work. The rubber balloon for the manual windshield washer foot pedal is cracked. It was in an accident in the eighties and has a California VIN CA867397. Recently the clutch has started making a little whrring sound when engaging at higher RPMs, it may need replacing soon or the sound may just be a sound, I don't know enough to tell for sure.
