www.mustangbeginnings.com www.mustangbeginnings.com 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302!!! VIN# 0F02G193xxx Description: The man who came up with the name Boss 302 was stylist Larry Shinoda. The Boss 302, introduced in 1969, was Ford's answer to Camaro Z/28 in SCCA TransAm racing series. Although the 1969 Boss 302 showed a lot of promise by winning the first 3 out of 5 races, it won no more races that year. However, in 1970, with drivers Parnelli Jones and George Follmer, Boss 302 dominated TransAm with 6 wins, 5 seconds, and 4 thirds, culminating in Parnelli Jones winning the driver championship. Rated at 290 HP, the Boss 302 was actually putting out closer to 350 HP with race versions making 450 Horse’s at over 8,000 RPM. 1970 was the year before Ford’s decade of Total Performance drew to a close which now makes these race bred vintage Mustangs one of the most Collectible Muscle Cars of all time. THIS PARTICULAR 1970 BOSS 302 REPRESENTS AN EXTREMELY RARE OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE ONE OF THESE TREASURED CLASSICS, and its options are authenticated by the Marti Auto report shown below. This Boss left the factory painted WHITE with a black interior. It had the famed Boss 302 engine with the four speed “toploader” transmission. It was highly optioned with a shaker hood, rear deck spoiler, sports slats, console, power steering, tinted glass, and tachometer and AM/8-Track stereo radio. This Boss 302 will need restoration but it is well worth the effort. As you can clearly see, there is some rust in the normal places - floor pans and lower quarters but the frame rails look to be in pretty good condition. Most all the body panels are in decent condition and original. There is a dent in the passenger quarter, but it can be pulled. Neither quarter should require full replacement, only lower quarter work. INTERIOR: The floors will need patching or replacing. This car has its original black high back bucket seats and rear seat. Also, the car's original black interior panels and tachometer instrument panel are in place and restorable. DRIVETRAIN: The drivetrain has been removed from this car. The engine you see in the picture is a 302 engine, and IS included, but it IS NOT an original Boss 302 engine. The current engine would be great to use as a race engine if you decide to have it rebuilt and stroked and bored it to a 347. We do have a correctly code dated Boss 302 engine - available separately. If you need one, please call to discuss. The transmission in the car is an automatic. Again, if you need a toploader, we can supply one separately. The rear end shown in the pictures is not the correct 31 spline rear end, but we do have a correct 9” rear end which we will include if you accept the Buy It Now price. The correct 31 spline axles are in the trunk, please see the pictures below. The Boss, does, of course have the correct staggered Boss shocks, but the nodular case has been replaced with a normal 9” case. We either have, or we can help you find, most everything you will need to complete the restoration of this car. In our shop at MustangBeginnings, we do everything from rust repair to a full concourse restoration. Please call to discuss what ever help you may need.
