Vehicle Detail
This is a NO RESERVE auction for my 1979 Cadillac Fleetwood Limousine. This car is the sedan style without a division. It is about 22 feet in length with seating for 8 passengers when the 2 folding jump seats are used. These cars were built by Cadillac on the commercial chassis, rather than cut in half and stretched by an aftermarket coach builder. Mechanical. Mechanically the car seems good. It has been driven and serviced regularly during the 3 years I have owned it. The odometer shows a bit under 49K miles. It is powered by the Cadillac 425 V-8. The transmission shifts well. The steering is excellent. The brakes are good. The emergency brake pedal mechanism is binding. Tires are good. The car is fully optioned. The radio LED display has gone bad. The radio works fine—I do not know about the 8 track--don’t have any tapes. The power antenna does not move up and down, although the motor runs. It is currently disconnected. The AC (R-12) blows cold. The rear seat controls for the AC (and radio) work. Bodywork. The body on this car is very solid. There are a couple of small dents and dings—the biggest is on the driver’s door, where a gate banged into it (see photos). The underside is very clean and there is no rot that I can see. The paint is a low quality job and should be redone. It is shiny but not smooth, and appears to be bubbling in places. You can see this in some of the photos. The rear fender extensions are new. The huge vinyl roof is in really good condition with no tears. The chrome is nice. The trunk is clean. Interior. The velour fabric seats are very good. No rips in the seats. Power functions work as they should. The top of the dash has one crack by the defrost vent. The rest of the dash is really good. There is some wear to the driver’s door armrest. The plastic bezels surrounding the window switches on the doors are a weak spot on these cars, and they are not perfect on this one. The carpet has shrunk from age and has ripped in the rear seat foot wells as shown in the picture. It needs to be replaced, but the mats cover it effectively for now. A new molded carpet piece for the rear is included with the car. The headliner looks very good. Overall the interior is very good. Summary. This is a decent old car. It is not a perfect car by any account. I have described it to the best of my knowledge, but this is a 30 old car and there is NO WARRANTY of any kind! Sold AS IS, WHERE IS. Please ask ALL questions before you bid. You are bidding to buy. If you would like to look, please call: (803)242-0985, and I will be happy to show you the car BEFORE you bid. AGAIN -- THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION. HIGHEST BID OWNS THE CAR! I will cooperate with your shipper. Title is clear and in my possession. Shipping is at your cost. Remember this car is 22 feet long! It will not fit in a standard (10 X 20) storage or garage space. Please be serious. Vehicle and title will not be released until funds are cleared. Car is also listed for sale locally. Thanks for your interest.
