Here we have a 1958 Edsel Ranger with only 75K original miles. Car was built in California. Spent most of it's life in Washington. Recently brought to Ohio. It had a cosmetic restoration in the late 80's,which included exterior paint,carpet,recovered seats,not original material. Paint is somewhat faded and shows peeling on roof and deck lid. Recently reconditioned the fuel system. New fuel pump,rebuilt original carb,which does work great,and resealed the fuel tank, new fuel cap. Installed rebuilt power steering,using all original parts. Car drives good and handles well with new original tires,nice original wheel covers. Rebuilt lower control arms,ball joints,new tie rod ends,sway bar bushings and link kits,new shocks. The rear axle has been detailed. New axle bearings and seals,new wheel cylinders and all new brakes hoses. The charging system has been rebuilt,which includes a reconditioned generator,new regulator,and recent new battery,new fan belts. The engine runs quiet and strong. Have repainted valve covers and air cleaner original color with correct valve cover stencils. Does have a drip from rear seal. Cooling system has new fluid. Car runs cool even on hot days. This car is equipped with the Teletouch push button transmission. Have replaced the park relay. Teletouch works great,shifts crisp. Car also has electric servo controlled heating/ventilation system. It also works. All gauges work. Have retouched the gauge needles with correct color. The radio comes on with static but no sound. Replaced horns with original working units. The wipers work slowly,probably vacuum wiper motor needs repair. The chrome and pot metal are in great condition. Have had the left front and rear bumper rechromed. All exterior stainless has been polished. Will also include extra side moldings,which are in good shape. The hood ornament disc is a new reproduction. The lower rocker panels have pin holes in them. I will include a set of new rocker panels that are exact duplicates,not the cheap caps. I have repaired the area around the fuel tank and painted it with original color. The color doesn't match with the repaint but looks ok. I also am including 2 quarts of base color. One quart is the horizon blue,the other is the light blue. These are the exact original colors. The floor pans have had repair with welding in panels. Trunk is solid. New reproduction trunk boards and trunk mat. Also have original working bumper jack. The interior has had new correct headliner and new dome light. New kick panels and new package tray. Have had the door armrest pads recovered with correct original material. Still has original door panels that look good. Upgraded the rear view mirror with a day/night unit. Also replaced sun visors with nice originals. The taillight lenses are new reproductions,new lense gaskets. All lights and turn signals work. New reproduction back up light lenses. I have had a new windshield and seal installed. The new windshield is tinted. The rear glass was removed for the headliner install and has had a new seal installed as well. The side glass is all intact,but does show some bubbling. All windows roll up and down easily. Car is driven weekly and is reliable. Body has a couple of dents and dings. This car is a car that can be driven as is and have fun in it. It also would be a great candidate for a frame off restore too. Feel free to ask any questions. Can fly in and drive home,if you wish. I'm located close to airports. Correction on the paint I have,it's royal blue,not horizon blue,and the light is powder blue. These are the colors that car came from factory with.
