I am selling my truck because I simply do not use it at all and would like someone else to be able to enjoy it. I basically was going to use the truck to haul things and decided to restore the engine so I could have a good quality truck to use but then decided to move onto the interior and the rest is history. It is a classic 78 Ford that I purchased in Dec 2005 and have spent the last 4 years totally restoring it. I got a little carried away with the whole project and restored way more than I intended to use it for. So after completing the restoration last year I have used it maybe 2 times since then and now it just sits in the garage. I would like someone to enjoy this great truck and get some use out of it. It is a 300 cid 6 cylinder, which is a bullet proof well built engine but this would be a great truck for dropping in a V8 and taking it to some car/truck shows if you'd like. Please ask any and all questions if I haven't described something that maybe missing from the list below. I am putting a reserve on the listing but it will be low and I know I am going to be losing alot more than I put into this truck, but like I have said before, I want someone to enjoy it and use it as they see fit. Extra fender, dash, inner fender wells(2), inner fender aprons(2), misc front light parts(light buckets for a 79, bezels, turn signal lights), 2 newer tires with some tire wear but usable, plastic grille insert. The hubcaps in pictures do not come with truck but I do have the original hubcaps but they are a little beat up. This truck does have power brakes and power steering. The grille suround is the original and has not been updated, therefore it is an everyday driver condition. (new Ford grille surrounds are a bit pricey and I was not ready to buy that part yet) Good luck bidding! Here is what I have done to this truck to restore it: Engine · Engine overhauled – all new internals, re-bored cylinders, new mild cam, crankshaft turned & balanced, all gaskets replaced. Less than 1,000 miles on engine since overhaul. New Water pump · Fresh Ford blue engine paint · New carburetor – Carter w/electric choke · New Radiator · New battery (Jan 2010), includes the extra battery tray that went on the passenger side on inner fender well. · New distributor · New ignition modular · New starter · New fuel pump and gas line to carb · New coil · New heater hoses, new radiator hoses (upper & lower) · New fan/alt/power steering belt · New spark plugs and wires · New fuel lines to gas tank · New gas tank (19 gal) · All pipes from exhaust manifold back are new including the muffler · New fuel filter · New PCV valve Drivetrain · C4 is in great shape. The gentleman before I owned it had it serviced. Strong shifts to all gears. · All new brake lines · New brake pads · New brake hardware · New wheel cylinders · New brake switch on brake pedal · All 4 tires are used and will need replacing. Just wasn’t willing to spend more money. The 4 hubcaps in pictures do not come with the truck. I have the original hubcaps that will come with the truck. · Includes a spare 15” tire · Includes original jack placed under the hood on inner fender wall and the rest of the jack equipment under the bench seat · New back gas shocks(2) · New neutral safety switch on transmission linkage Interior · New dash pad · New interior light bezel and lens · Newer arm rest & inside door panels (both sides), new door handle cups(2) · New cloth sun visors with new rubber tips · New bench seat upholstery · New cloth headliner · Added a AM/FM/CD player and speakers · New carpet · Added sound insulation under the carpet · New heater core · New front windshield · All new weatherstripping around front and rear glass · All new weatherstripping around both door glass and vent windows · All new weatherstripping around each door · All new window channel weatherstripping including new beltline (inner & outer) weatherstripping on each door · All area inside cab was painted black to match bench seat, headliner and carpet · New shift collar on steering wheel Exterior · Total body and frame restoration · New body mount kit (52 piece) and radiator support kit (2) · Radius arm bushings (not installed on truck yet but come with it) · Frame was cleaned and coated with Eastwood’s Rust Encapsulator and then topped with Eastwood’s Chassis Black · Cab and bed both off frame to complete restoration properly · Both lower cab corners replaced with new sheet metal · Any rusted patches were removed and replaced with clean sheet metal (lower front fender area and above rear fender wheel wells) · All body work completed by myself and I primed the entire truck red · Was painted at a local shop with a PPG 47’ Mercury color (Evergreen). It is not show quality just every day driver quality. Note: small paint bubble on front hood area. Its about 1/4” – I am not sure what happen but I wanted to be sure to describe it. · New front chrome bumper and rear chrome step bumper (including new mounting hardware) · Side mirrors are new but they are a cheaper version so they don’t look great or perform well · Newer tailgate that was better than the original one when I bought it. · Both rear taillights are new including the gaskets. · New chrome around each rear taillight · New hood spring · Gator Guard Black epoxy paint inside 8 ft bed New chrome bolts to hold truck bed on frame On Jun-01-10 at 18:11:18 PDT, seller added the following information: The mileage on this truck should be 107,061 miles.
