Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1972 Ford Ranchero Squire. The Holy Grail of Gran Torino front ends !!! A real treasure from the desert. Vehicle has been parked for the last 6 plus years in the California desert. Has been a desert dweller for many years before being parked. Since I acquired this Ranchero I've replaced the spark plug wires due to hungry desert critters. The fuel pump, new fuel filter, new fuel lines from pump to carburetor. New battery and some fresh gas. Before starting this vehicle I checked the oil which was very clean and right on the mark on the dipstick. Checked the trans fluid which looked to be fresh, nice reddish color, the way it should be !!! After not running all those years, she fired right up !!! A great running 351- 2 barrel motor !!! Still needs some fine tuning but not much. The body is in great shape. Quarters are solid. Floors are solid. Nice car !!! Nice clean Gran Torino front end. Very straight front bumper as you can see in the photo. Nice front valance!!! Grill is nice. Grill emblem is faded. Hood is nice. I removed the hood pad due to the desert critters. Most of the Squire woodgrain has been removed except for the tailgate which is faded badly. Passenger side fender woodgrain when removed took some paint with it, which you can see in the photo. Bottom of fenders have stone chips. It appears as if someone painted the passenger side quarter woodgrain white ??? Solid doors a few door dings here and there. Dual sport mirrors. Rear bumper has a backed into a yellow pole issue. Bottom of tailgate has a minor bend on the bottom due to the bumper issue. Tailgate still opens and closes fine. Bed has a shell and carpet kit. Shell has been on a long time just by the looks of it. It still looks good. All the Squire moldings are there. The interior is in good shape for sitting in the sun all these years. Dash was covered so it still looks good. A couple minor cracks but still it's cracked, minor or not. Full gauge package!!! Factory air car. A/C not working. Carpet looks real good for being 38 years old. Door panels are nice , other than the speakers installed in them. Headliner is nice. Bench seat has some wear issues on the back along the edge. I was told the previous owner had a handicap and wore a back brace which could've had something to do with the seat wear. Along with the sun beating on it too. It's the high back bench seat. All glass is good. Pedals even look good. Odometer reads 57000 and some change. Looking over this car I'm wanting to believe it could be original mileage. It was an older man that owned it? Not sure, just an assumption. I based my assumption on looking at the carpet and pedals and the fluids in the motor. Just the way it runs !!! Ranchero has a complete set of Magnum 500's, all missing the centers. Tires hold air but definitely need to be replaced. I would love to keep this one but have already started redoing my 1973 Ranchero GT. Unfortunately we can't keep them all. This will be a great one for you !!! I did what was needed to get this one up and running but will leave the rest to the new owner. Money issues keep me from going any further on this one. Radiator will have to be replaced. Hoses too. The belts look new but then again they've been sitting. This is truly a good one here!!! Just reach in the window and turn the key, she fires right up. No pumping of the pedal.
