Vehicle Detail
Hard to find Euro model with additional horsepower and 5-speed manual transmission. Just in time for the driving season! If you value the grace and power of the Porsche flagship, get your hands on one of the few 5-speeds still available, at a great price. The feeling of going from 60MPH to unspeakable speed with such smoothness is almost indescribable. I bought it a few years ago after losing at playing chicken with eBay late one night, and driving it home from Philadelphia. I bought it from a dealer who had just gotten it on a trade-in, and it looked as if it had been parked for a while. Recent replacement of timing belt, air mass meter and various other fixes makes this 928 ready for a fun driving season. This car is fast and graceful, and rewards one with an experience of exhilaration and incredible satisfaction. A few items still need attention, typical of a 25 year-old car, but nothing too major. Specifically, the typical 928 fixes: i.e. cruise control, mirror controls, rear wiper, driver's seat adjustment. AC needs a charge and the front spoiler is cracked. A few thin cracks in the dash, but the seats are in good shape. Exterior is good, apparently with original paint with a couple small dings and one small scrape. The odometer was working until late last fall, just before putting it away for the winter. Speedo is fine. All recent work performed at the dealer, by a 928-centric professional aficionado. Paperwork and recent inspection report available. This is not the Porsche for the concourse, to be babied, coddled and cooed over. Well, maybe it is, if that's what you want. But in my opinion, this is a great car, waiting for the right owner to do a few minor things and then get its badass out on the road and remember why we were given testosterone. Not to be sexist... Several of my women friends drove it with similar exhortations.
