1951 Pontiac Chieftain, 8cyl engine and automatic transmission. Not a barn find – but rather an excellent original car from an avid early 50’s Chieftain fan. This car has been kept in a climate controlled garage next to other old cars. Has been is use – driven lots over the past few months especially. Appears to be original in all regard. Paint, Interior, Engine, etc look untouched. Brakes fully restored some time ago and work great now. Engine runs perfect – incredibly smooth and quiet. Starts easily, drives perfectly. Trans feels great, recent battery and fuel pump. No leaks – I’ve been driving this car a lot and it gives great confidence behind the (huge) wheel. Radio and clock not working. Exterior is very straight with excellent trim. A few small dents here and there, also some small spots of rust from long ago. Looks like someone did a little floor work years ago. Doors work great – windows and all (4) ¼ windows work ok with a little help. Huge visor and traffic light finder. Indian head lights up as it should and all lights work including turn signals. Even original under hood lights works great. Chrome has seen better days but all there including over-riders. Interior all there and useable – obviously original and extremely unique. Some rough spots – tears – dried out areas (like top of back seat). Headliner has a tear or two. Still a little dusty in there. Tires look good – Brakes feel great – E Brake works great – Trans perfect – no funny noises – no smoke – no taps – vacuum wipers work - dash very nice – great steering wheel with a few cracks – spare tire and hardware in place. Does need an exhaust donut – but rest of exhaust looks recent. This car could of course be restored - But with an original that is in this type of shape – that drives as well as this one does – my recommendation would be to drive and enjoy as is ! No excuses necessary with an original that you can drive. I have lots of pictures and first hand info on this car – please contact through e-bay and I’ll respond quickly. This car is loved by all. Fun to drive and incredible that it’s all still the way it was in 51 (plus age) and a few miles. Car to be sold as-is with no warranty. Will ship almost anywhere in the world at your cost.
