This beetle is really very clean for its age and has been driven near daily since August 2009 with only a few mechanical issues. It is an automatic stickshift (or semiautomatic - meaning there is no clutch). It has fairly recently (last 3-4 months) had a new carbureator, a new clutch servo, and new plugs installed. It has been sitting a short time now (approx 6-7 weeks), but still starts easily and idles, however, it is choking down to a near stall once it is put in gear and accelerated on. Tires are worn and should be replaced. Some wheels are rusty. Some rust shows on the chrome front bumper and driver side headlight ring (see pics). Paint is in good shape for the most part aside from the approximately fist sized dent at the passenger front fenderwell (see pic). Rear bumper has small ding in the center of it. All glass is in good shape (no cracks, good seals, no tint). It does need new motor mounts, the speedometer and odometer is not working (but the fuel gauge is working), and the wipers seem to have quit since last run. The engine has oil residue and may need new gaskets. Blinkers, headlights, and brake lights all are functional. Seats are clean with no noticeable tears or cuts. The actual mileage on this vehicle is not known. It has current registration in Texas & inspection but will expire in July and September 2010 respectively. This will make a good beetle for somebody wanting to have a very strong start on a fixer-upper or one that can be fairly easily tuned up to run well enough for gentle drives.
