Vehicle Detail

Hello everyone! I am offering for sale this neat older Lincoln Towncar with a very nice original color combination. This is a nice 4 door Towncar with the very rare glass roof option! The car runs and drives very well. I would not hestitate to drive it across country, in fact I have driven it on several 300+ mile journeys and never had any issues. The accesories largely work fine (read below), and the car has around 112,000 actual miles. I have driven it around 5,000 miles since I bought it over two years ago. The car has a new battery and the tires are in decent shape with even treadwear (around 50% wear). I will now describe the overall condition of the car and how everything works: OPTIONS AND ACCESORIES... The AC blows cool but not cold, Defroster and Heat all work fine. The Power locks only work the front driver's door. There is noise coming from the other doors when I use the lock button, but they do not move. The regular knobs work fine. The power antenna doesn't work. The power windows work fine except the driver's window seemingly works only occasionally. The lights dim a bit when I depress the switch, so I know the connection is fine. The power trunk release works fine. The AM-FM Stereo CB radio works fine, the 8-Track works fine as well as the 40-channel CB. Since the antenna doesn't work, the range of the CB is cut back some as a result. The Remote mirrors work fine. The Vanity mirrors work fine. All dome and courtesy lights and exterior lights work as intended, and the hidden Headlights work fine and remain closed after the engine is turned off. No wiring issues at all. The Horns work fine. The Cruise control works fine. The rear electric defroster works fine. The power seats work fine. The delay wipers work fine, the water squirt part doesn't work. All cluster gages and idiot lights work as intended. The clock works and keeps good time, but the thumbwheel adjustment control doesn't work. The lighters work fine. The tilt wheel works fine. The auto-lights feature works along with the auto-dim feature, although the auto-dim is a bit oversenstive acting to me. THE INTERIOR: The white Leather seats and seat padding are in very decent shape with normal wear and discolorations associated with age and wear. Carpet and original mats are good but not great. If I was to keep the car longer, I would replace the carpet. The carpet has a few minor tears and stains, especially in the back seat area. Door panels are largely in very good shape with minor wear and age, but no cracks. Dash and rear shelf are in very good shape. The steering wheel is fine, but the cruise control wood trim piece has the usual Lincoln wear and chips on it. Kick panels and chrome inside is in very good shape or better with minimal pitting issues. All switches and buttons are in good shape with nothing loose. One plastic piece on the driver's door trim pullstrap is missing. All glass including the windshield is in fine shape with no cracks or chips. The headliner doesn't have any rips. There is a slight bit of staining to the headliner in a couple of places, nothing serious that a good cleaning and detail won't fix. The rearview mirror is intact but has a bit of age to the glass. No funky odors inside. THE TRUNK: Trunk-lid is in very good shape with no rust issues, and tire change sticker is intact. Trunk carpet is in decent shape with age, wear and minor stain issues. No funky odors. Trunk light is in working order. THE EXTERIOR: Body is straight. All panels fit fine with no mis-alignments associated with accidents. The metallic style paint is kinda flat and I think the car could use fresh paint. Rust is mainly surface and 99% of the rust is on the top area near the glass roof. Vinyl top is in very good shape except a couple places that could be repaired on the rear under the rear window. The rims are original and are in very decent original shape. The aluminum trim pieces could use a bit of polishing due to oxidation issues. No major defects. The rear bumper has a small spot of rust, the front bumper has a minor rub on the passenger side. The grillwork is fine. The chrome around the turn signals are a tiny bit pitted as well as the exterior mirrors. The tail and front lens are in very decent shape still. The glass and windshield are in very good shape overall with no chips and cracks. THE MECHANICAL: The 460 V8 Engine runs well with no issues. Oil changes are performed regularly with Quaker State 10-30W oil. The battery is new, and the belts and hoses are in good shape. The thermostat was replaced recently as well. There is a bit of oil staining on the valve covers, and the information labels in the engine area are in good shape with age related wear. The Transmission shifts well and on time as well as Reverse gear. No issues. Electrical is in good shape with no issues. No odd noise or issues from the wheels or rearend. Brakes are in fine shape with no issues. Car alignment is fine as well with no issues associated with pulling or wear. No play in the steering. Car exhaust is in very good shape with no leaks. No odd noises or rattle issues while driving car. I hope this answers any question you may have concerning this car's condition. If you have any additional questions, please write. I would be happy to show the car to a prospective buyer at any time during the auction. With a bit of work and a fresh paintjob, this car will look great with this beautiful color combination! Thanks again for looking and good luck! On May-29-10 at 08:56:52 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello everyone, I have additional photos I can email to you upon request. Also, the car is sold as-is where is with no warranty implied or given by me, and buyer is responsible for transporting car or shipping car. Also, people with zero feedback need to contact me before bidding. I do know of a very good and resonable auto shipper, so feel free to ask.
