Vehicle Detail

Nice original 1953 F100 pickup. 50 Year anniversary of Ford, as cleverly stated on the horn ring. This truck was bought new in 1953 at WW Wallwork Ford in Fargo, ND by a Barnesville, MN farmer. I bought it back in 2004 from the second owner and kept it at my Minnesota lake cabin until a couple of years ago. I drove it from Minnesota to Denver without any problems. I've put quite a bit of work into the truck to make it a reliable driver: new brakes, new front end, new radial tires, carb rebuild, 6v alternator, quite a bit of electrical work. This truck is quite reliable and a joy to drive. Although it has the 'less famous' 6 cylinder, the engine is bulletproof and quite torquey. I have another Ford with the flathead 8, and this truck, with its taller gearing, is actually better as a daily driver. It starts, points and stops the way it should. The lights all work, including brake lights and directional signals. The truck was given an amateur-ish body and paint job some years ago, and although it's quite presentable, it's really a 20-footer. Some of the surfaces are uneven and the paint is somewhat orange-peely. I think it's great for a driver, but the pictures make it look more professionally finished than it really is. It doesn't have any rust problems at all. The windshield is pitted and cracked and the headliner needs to be replaced. The driver's side wind wing also does not lock, and the glass is yellowing. The original tailgate is pretty rough from farm use, but is in the back of the box. The wood in the box is faded but still decent. Mechanically, I'd drive it to Florida tomorrow if I had to. I'd really prefer that whoever buys this truck not turn it into a rod. Obviously, I can't control what people do with their purchases, but I think that this is one of those original finds that deserves to stay original. The truck is in Denver and buyer to pay all shipping costs. Good luck, and thanks for looking. On May-15-10 at 06:34:52 PDT, seller added the following information: Vehicle Transportation Tools powered by Shipping Price Estimator Delivery Zipcode: uShip is the first and largest auction- style marketplace for shipping and transportation services.
