My husband is selling his 97 Pontiac Grand Am GT. He bought the car with only 64000 miles on it, and it's been a great car for us. It gets excellent gas mileage, and is a fun little car to drive. It has some newer parts, and the body is in good condition. There are 2 small rust spots on the hood where it dented (small dents) and then surface rust on the driver side rear wheel well. It has a pretty clean interior, and the rear seats fold down. It has air, cruise, pw (but the passenger side window works when it wants to), pl (it has a remote alarm system but that hasn't worked for a few years), front-wheel-drive, low profile tires, auto shifter on the floor, a spoiler and very dark tinted windows. It's a really cute little car, and we were hoping to get a few more years out of it. The timing chain was off so we had it towed to a local mechanic to fix. He tried starting it several times, and came to the conclusion that it was the timing chain. The day he was going to work on it he tried starting it a few more times (no idea why) and then called us to say the motor was now seized up. !!! We talked to his manager & the owner of the place but they said they can't do anything about it, but gave us the quote for how much it would cost US to have the motor replaced. Rather than stick more money into an older car, we bought a different one. This would be a great car project for someone who can put in a motor themselves. The tranny is good, the alternator was replaced not too long ago, and the 2 front tires are practically brand new. Please email with any questions before bidding.
