Vehicle Detail

You are looking at a 2004 Honda Rebel in VGC. I am selling the bike without a reserve. So, bid and come and get it. The bride wants here garage back, and I don't need the bike. If you bid, you own it until you are outbid! It is sporting a nice little set of saddle bags and a small windshield. I traded my 2006 Honda 750 Aero for this little bike and some cash. I intended for it to be my daughter's bike to learn on. She rode it a few miles around here in our condominium community but never got steady on it. She let it down real easy turning around on a cul-de-sac (no damage...just injured pride). It scared her and me. Her mom/my bride was/is not happy w/ me introducing her to riding. We decided that she needs to go take a safety course before trying to ride on the street. She teaches in Jacksonville, NC and is not planning to come home for the summer; So, I have a bike I don't need. I am a BIG guy and this is a girls' bike. (I have a Meanstreak to carry me around.) I had the carb professionally cleaned a few weeks back. It starts easy and runs like a champ. It needs nothing. Tires are good. Paint is shiny. Seat is in good shape. VA inspection is current through April 2011. The current mileage showing is 2,596 miles. The title says that the mileage is not actual, but I do not know why? I didn't have the mileage w/ me when I went to DMV, and didn't want to go home to get it and lose my place in line, so, I guessed. The title says 3,268 miles. (Not a bad guess for a 57 year old's memory!) So, the title says 3,268 and the odometer shows 2,596 and the title says NOT ACTUAL... Go figure. I simply do not know why? It looks like a clean low mileage 2-3,000 mile bike to me. I have had dozens of bikes and this one is very clean and neat. The gear shift may be bent slightly or it may not be? If I were going to keep it, I would bend it a little, even if it is not bent? It would fit my toe better. But it may be designed for a smaller foot? It is possible that the shifter is what caught the brunt of my daughter letting the bike down. She didn't even fall, she just held on to it as it went on the side. There are no scratches that I can find, but it WAS gently laid on its side. NO VISIBLE DAMAGE! None that I can see! The bike has been garage kept since I have owned it, and it shows like a bike that has always been garage kept. There is tiny rust on the metal clips on the inexpensive saddle bags commensurate w/ a 2004 bike that has been garage kept in Virginia Beach, VA. However, once again, I do not know the history of the bike. The gentleman from whom I bought it was in the Navy and was using it for his daily ride to work. It had obviously been well cared for on his watch. It is ready to ride. It needs NOTHING! We have ridden it probably less than 50 miles since buying the bike. I will bring it to you for $.25 per mile both ways up to 250 miles. You must agree to come half way to meet me. I have a truck and a ramp, so, I can load it by myself. You will need a truck or you can ride it the rest of the way. I will need a Saturday to make a trip of more than say 75 miles or so. So, give me a call if you live at some distance and want to know when/where we could possibly meet. Check Mapquest 23462 for estimate of distance to my place. I'll have the tank full of gas and buy your breakfast/lunch or dinner when we meet. Thanks for looking and hope it is what you think you need. Howard (757) 819-3835 A Clymer Manual for Honda Twinstar, Rebel 250 & Nighthawk 250 is included in the sale. Please remind me. I'll try to think to put it back in the saddle bags. This bike is like the ones they use to train riders on. It is low and easy to straddle. Not powerful, and easy to maneuver. A great first bike. It will probably run 70 mph, but is most comfortable at say 50 or so. It is not a bike for the interstate. A great get around town, bring home the bread and milk from the grocery store bike.
