Vehicle Detail
1931 Ford Model A Five-window coupe with rumble seat For sale is a 1931 Ford Model A that is considered a long-time member of our family. My father purchased this car in the late ‘80s to act as a pleasure vehicle for my parents. For over 30 years, it has served as a weekend cruiser, ice cream fetcher, and parade marshal vehicle. And, it was very much loved by my father. Sadly, Dad passed away a few months ago, and my mother no longer has a use for the car. We would like to find a good home for the car so that this 80-year-old classic can continue its long and storied life. I’m openly admitting that I know very little about Ford Model A’s and very little about this particular car. I won’t be able to tell you every little detail about this car – Dad was the expert. What we do know is that the car was running and full functional when it was parked about two years ago. It has been moved from time to time since, but it has mostly sat in the garage as it has for the last 30 years. When Dad bought the car, he was told that there was an earlier restoration performed to the car. I do not know the extent of that restoration, but I would not assume that the entire car is the original steel. It does have passable paint for a 30-year-old car, and its interior is in very nice shape. The car always drove well, handled well, and stopped – considering the capabilities of any original ’30 Model A. One additional item that no one can completely explain. The car does have a tag that states “Special Number Plate, Department of Revenue, Pennsylvania”. So, we have always felt that this car had at one time served duty as a governmental vehicle – perhaps as daily transport for an IRS agent. We will welcome any and all questions about this cool little ’31 coupe. We will try to get additional pictures if requested and answer all questions to the best of our ability. We will gladly schedule an appointment for you to visit the car if that will help you estimate the value of the car. Please, keep in mind that the car is located in upstate New York. Car is sold as is with no warranty whatsoever. Thank you for reading the ad, and we hope that this Model A can continue its adventures with another loving family.
