1997 Honda CBR11XX Blackbird 1100cc Sport Touring bike in very good condition. It is sporting: a ERION Racing Muffler, a brand new battery, installed today, a new chain and sprockets with less that 50 miles on them, and a current VA inspection sticker good through the end of November 2010. It comes w/ a Like New Haynes Service & Repair Manual for a Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird '97 to '02 and also includes a clear windscreen in addition to the silver reflective one which is currently installed. There has been one small repair to the front fender plastic. The crack was about 2-3" long and was obviously repaired professionally. (It is not unsightly and looks like a manufacturer seam, but it is definitely a former crack that has been glued/repaired.) Here's the scoop on the bike. I am 57 years old and had a 1996 Harley Convertible that had a little transmission issue. I didn't want to put any more money in the Convertible and had a friend who was eager to own a Harley. Long story short, I ended up trading him my Convertible for his Blackbird, and he rode my Harley to Maryland. Obviously, he gave me some cash to boot. I have ridden the Blackbird a total of fourteen (14) miles since it came into my possession. The mechanic put some of the 14 miles on it when he replaced the chain and sprockets. It is not made for THIS 57 year old guy. This is a young man's bike, but not for an inexperienced rider. I have a Kawasaki Meanstreak that is much more to my liking. Anyway, I am going to put it on here without reserve. I rode it today and am sure that it was made for someone else. I am in Virginia Beach, VA but am willing to travel half way to bring you the bike for $.25 per mile both ways up to 250 miles. I have a pickup truck and full size ramp. Please feel free to fly into the Norfolk International airport and ride the bike home. It will take you anyplace/fast. It has had Amsoil in the crankcase for years. The tires are very good, and it runs like a champ. I will pick you up at either Norfolk International or Newport News, VA airports for free, have the bike full of gas, and buy your dinner before you head out. It is far above average condition for a bike of this age and mileage. My buddy was real picky about how you sat on his bike. It is NICE! Better than that! I like it, but it doesn't like me... It's faster than fast... the speedometer tops out at 205mph... and the tach shows that the bike red-lines at just under 11,000rpm... Come and get it, then hang on! Not a beginners bike! Please do not bid on this bike if you are not an experienced rider. Please be careful!
