Vehicle Detail

Sorry this auction was accididently canceled, We appoligize for the confussion! The reserve has been lowered! We call this truck "ButterNut" because of how sweet it has been to us. We bought it about four years ago from a famer from South Dakota to use as a parts truck for our 1951 L112 that we were restoring at the time. When this truck arrived it was obvious that it was way to nice to use as a parts truck. The water pump was replaced along with a Carb rebuild, new plugs, wires and cap. Changed all the fluids and it fired up and has been running great ever since. It does not burn or leak any oil and the drive train and interior are all original. The whole truck received a paint job about two years ago which is a close to the orginal color as we could get. The rims were powder coated and a new set of tires were added. The glass is very good all around with a new windshield and rubber seal. The truck runs fine and the brakes are ok, and has a new wheel cylinders all the way around. This truck had never left the farm in South Dakota until we purchased it and it still has some of the original registrations on the steering column. This truck has 56081 original miles on it. The paint is very nice but it is not a show truck. All electrics work accept the gas guage. The horn wants to work (but makes a ticking sound) which it probable has a loose wire or ground. The floors in the cab are very solid with no rot only surface rust and also the under side of the truck only has surface rust with no rot. It has been converted to an 8 volt negative ground system which works excellent and has plenty of cranking power. I had an auto shop build me an 8 volt negative ground one wite alternator and uses an 8 volt battery. I think this system is great because you do not have to change any of the lights, coil, starter, points, ect.... Like you would have to do when converting to 12 volts. I may even start to sell some of these alternators if I can get more. I has a 4 speed non-syncro transmission that requires a little bit of skill to drive. The Tailgate use to have a grain trap door on it, but we had it removed and had aa pice of sheet mental welded in its place. We really hate to let this truck go but we are running out of storage space and the L112 restoration has been completed. I have some extra body parts; front fenders , 2 left & 2 right for sale seperate if anyone is interested. I have pictures of them that I will send upon request. All in all a very solid orignal truck that would be good to keep as is or turn into a Hot Rod project!!! Oh by the way the dog is not included in the sale!! On Apr-30-10 at 05:38:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Upon the inquiry about the over drive transmission the truck was taken to the local transmission shop and it was determined that it is not an over drive transmission but it is the original transmission to the truck and in good working order. Sorry for the mis-information! The reserve is no to far away!
