Vehicle Detail
Here is a nice Honda Dream 305 in good condition, very restorable. Not sure of the year...ebay demanded I select a year so I'm guessing it is 1966 or so. I have another that is a 1965 and they look almost identical except for the clutch cable which runs down the side of the engine on this one, and on the 65 it goes through the frame. There is no title. It is complete, except for speedometer and cable, and it needs front foot peg rubbers. Because there is no speedometer or odometer I have no idea how many miles on the bike. In the pics you can see there is no front fender, tail light or front brake cable, but it comes with all these, unattached but in good condition. It also comes with two NEW tires and two nice mufflers that were wedged on the header pipes. They are not stock, and they have Harley Davidson written on them, so they were apparently for a Harley originally. They are meant to fit a slightly bigger pipe, and that is why they were just wedged on I think, but I'm sure someone could get adapters so that they would fit, if need be. They actually do look very nice on the bike I think. Everything on this bike is in good to excellent condition. The chain guard is nearly perfect and looks new. One of the shocks is great, the other just ok with some rust. The back fender is perfect without dents, and the front one has a very nice front end but a few small creases in the tail end where it is very common. I'm not sure if the headlight works, as there seems to be an electrical problem with the bike. I bought it this way and have not done a thing to it except put nicer side covers on it, and the guy said that he had it running last season. I could not get it running because of the elec problem, and couldn't kick it started, but the engine sounded great when I did turn it over using the kick start. I opened the carb and it had dirty gas inside so I think that is why I couldn't kick it over. The tank is nice, with a few very small dents, and very little rust inside...might not even need to be creamed. The chrome side tank covers are very nice! They have the emblems but I think they are repro. The "interesting" blue seat is probably not original, though I'm really not sure, and it is in perfect shape except for a small slice as though someone accidently hit it with a razor blade. All in all this is a great bike for a restoration project or just keeping as is. I actually think it looks good without the front fender...could be turned into cafe style? I hate to say it's not a runner, but since I have not actually started it myself, I have to be honest and tell it like it is...and sell it as is. I am not a mechanic and know very little about working on these engines, so for all I know it could be as simple as a loose wire somewhere. I simply don't have the time, as I have another 305 bike project, and a classic boat I am restoring and I do not want this bike to be sitting here all summer and then have to store it. I'd rather someone else make good use of it! Ask any questions at all and i will do my best. Thanks! ps...the rims have some bubbling in the chrome, and I do have two other rims that are better which the buyer could have if they wanted. Also...I have an original parts catalog, and repair manual to go with it. This bike is worth $1000 in parts alone. Look on ebay at what CA77 parts are going for. The new tires and the extra rims I'm throwing in are easily worth $250...and those are a BONUS! On May-02-10 at 06:15:09 PDT, seller added the following information: My reserve is $550. I cannot sell it for any less.
