All Original: 1 owner for 47 years !! You're bidding on an all-original 1960 Pontiac Catalina Ventura 2 door hardtop. As they say at Barrett Jackson “Their only original once”! This car is well known in town as Mrs. Pinkston purchased the car new at Putchett Pontiac Cadillac in Tuskegee, Al on 9/12/60. It was stored in a barn, yes… a Barn, she drove it occasionally. This is a rust free, accident free car with 75,600 original miles on the car / drive train / Paint / interior. Motor is a 389 V8 two barrel engine that doesn't smoke or use any oil, starts right up and purrs. I drove it down I85 at 75 mph with ease. The new 3-speed jetaway hydromatic transmission was new for the 1960 model and was the advanced predecessor for the turbo 400 of today. The transmission was re-sealed (not rebuilt) 3 years ago by a mechanic that used to work on them new (50 years ago). There are no leaks and the transmission shifts very smoothly. It has new dual exhaust, starter, generator, carb rebuild and battery. The Power brakes are new – from the power master cylinder, to the lines, to the wheel cylinders and shoes. Power steering works like new. The Rally “2” wheels are NEW, yes the rims, beauty rings and center caps were purchased “new” along with the tires. I have the original rims and hubcaps in excellent condition, yes all five (5) the spare & original jack comes with the car!! Again, with the power steering & brakes, this car cruises at 75 mph and handles beautifully. Everyone turns their head and gives the thumbs up! Interior everything works but the clock. The AM (wonder bar) radio works, takes a few seconds for the tubes to heat up, then she plays as it did in 1960. The car has new carpet, and the headliner is in great shape. This car is a real head turner. This car rides and drives like new. It has won many 1st & 2nd place awards. You get what you see.
