This is a great SMOKE -FREE, family automobile which has been located in Alabama all it's life.... no salt, no potholes, no rust. The vehicle is being SOLD AS IS. It has only had two owners. The car was purchased by my father so I am able to answer any and all questions in regards to the vehicles history. I have really loved driving this car and have tried to take good care of it. Exterior: Considering the age of the vehicle, the exterior is in good condition with the exception of several small dents over the passenger rear tire by being hit by something while parked and a few rock chips in the paint and light dings on the doors. The driver’s side running light cover is busted, however the light still works. The other cosmetic issues are pictured. The hood will only stay open on its own for a short period of time. A new solar controlled front windshield was installed two years ago. Also included is a bulb replacement kit and spare tire. Interior: I would describe the leather and carpet to be in great condition after comparing the pictures of other ’99 Saabs. There are no rips or tears in the leather. The driver’s seat and carpet by far have the most wear and the back seat has rarely been used. The LCD screen on the center console does not always display properly however all console controls work correctly. Two pieces of the gear shift plastic has fallen out. I was told by my mechanic this would be between a $75-$100 fix. It does not affect the performance of the vehicle so I have not had it done. Mechanical: The vehicle runs smoothly with AC and heating system working beautifully and a new battery. Last year the vehicle displayed a combination of the Anti-Lock Brake, Check Engine, and Air Bag Lights. I do not live near a dealership so I drove the vehicle minimally for four months before taking it to a dealership in another city. The diagnostic report concluded that the ABS Module Internal Fault needs replaced and that upon this replacement they believe the issue should be solved. There is a possibility there may be further work needed if this module is replaced and the lights still appear. This cannot be accurately determined until the work is completed. They also contribute at this time the speedometer and odometer failure from this internal fault. When asked specifically if it is dangerous to not have this module replaced, the mechanics stated that it is not necessarily dangerous however to cover themselves they could not suggest to leave it without repair. My problem is there are very few people in my location who work on European cars. Other Import Auto mechanics in big cities estimate a used module to be $500. The odometer reads 146,623 miles. The odometer has not worked since the previously stated problem last year. I can only give my honest guess on the number of miles driven since then. The dealerships accurate reading at that time was 146,607. It was a 90mile drive home plus my generous estimate of 3,500 miles of total daily use. I do not believe it could be any higher than this as I have only driven it to and from work which is 5 miles round trip. My best judgment would put the mileage at approximately 150,213 miles. Incidentally the engine has been pampered with regular oil changes at 5,000 mile intervals. It does not burn oil and continues to run smoothly.
