Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is this 1949 (First Generation) Plymouth 5 Passenger Coupe. I know it looks like a 1948 Plymouth (which is why I listed it as such, to cut down on arguments), but it is a real first Gen. 1949 Plymouth 5P Coupe. 1949 was one of those split years where the first half of the year looks like a 1948 and the second half of the year looks like a 1950. Most of the 49's you see will be the second gen., for some reason not many first Gen. 49's survived, but this is a real 1949, it still has the 1948 plate from the Fall of 1948 on the front. From what I have read, the reason was that Chrysler was having a problem tooling up for the "new" 1949's so they just touched up the 48's and called them 49's until after the first of the year when they came out with the "new" 49's. It has new glass rubber installed in the front and rear windows and I have all of the chrome for it. It need floors which I have (but do NOT go with the auction). There is no motor or transmission, I was going to install a 360/automatic. The seat I believe are from a late 50's or early 60's T-Bird and are white. I have a complete Rod, Custom and Restoration shop so I can finish the car to the buyer wish. I also make and can install new floors in it prior to it being picked up. Some one started to Hot Rod it before I picked it up. The starting bid is what I paid for it 5 years ago. I will split the cost of making and tacking in floors 50/50 with the buyer. I had to relist this due to one of those scamers trying to buy it including the shipping cost for overseas. OK, this is the second time that someone has bought the car on a scam. I have changed the "Buy Now" to reserve to try to stop this from happening again. There is no reserve the car sells for what ever the high bid is. Refer to above for a detailed discription. "May end auction early as the car is also for sale locally."
