The car was originally purchased in Clinton, IA in 1967. The original owner's name and girlfriend's name are still on a sticker on the ash tray! The young man that bought the car died young a couple years after buying the car new. The family kept the car as a family airloom for the next 35 years. It was taken out of storage occasionally, but for the most part this has been in dry storage for most of its life. The car was passed down a couple generations in the family and it ended up in (I believe) a grand neice's family's garage. Her husband is a car guy. He started to fix it up and he ended up getting interested in a different classic car project and he needed to sell this one to focus on the other one. That's when we bought it. We've probably only put 2000 miles on it since we've purchased it! After the original owner passed away, the car went to Georgia, where it spent the next 35 or so years. I've got more info on this in my desk at work, and I'll add it in on Monday. Questions? Keep 'em coming! Happy Motoring! On Apr-22-10 at 21:16:30 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello! Someone brought to my attention that they were having trouble decoding the VIN on this. The VIN listed at the top is incorrect. The car was in storage and I couldn't get to it when I first listed it, so that VIN is incorrect. The VIN is 164877S150402 Enjoy the auction! Questions? Send 'em my way!
