Vehicle Detail
Hi, Up for auction is a 1963 Volkswagen Single Cab Pick-Up. Since this trucks restoration, only 6,000 miles have been logged on the odometer. The truck features dual treasure chest as a factory option. The truck has had extension work done to it as you can see in the pictures. Beautifully done body and paint work. The paint is absolutely gorgeous and is near identical to Velvet Green. The Single Cab received all new window rubber, door seals, including treasure chest seals and window scrapers (felt). Tinted glass professionally installed all the way around the entire cab of the truck. The '63 Single Cab sits on 356 Porsche Chromies with Wolfsburg Crest hubcaps. All suspension has been done, including front and rear alignments. The bed of the truck is wrapped in fully polished aluminum diamond plate, side gates are in excellent condition. On the front of the truck you will see a chrome original VW emblem, with the addition of H4 headlights behind the orginal buckets and glass lenses. Turn signal housings are also new with a chrome very nice suround. To smooth out the ride, the truck rides on Bilstein shocks on all four corners. The truck is 12 volt and all electrical works excellent, with the exception of the horn. The power behind this truck is professionally built and balanced, it is a 1835cc motor. The motor was built with performance and reliability in mind. It features a Scat crank, Engle FK-87 cam, 041 heads, Bosch 009 distributor, full flowed case with external oil filter, oil cooler, and a Berg deap sump. Some extras include dog house cooler, degree pully and a little billit here and there. The truck breaths through a set of original Italian dual 40 IDF Weber carbs. All this exits through a Thunderbird header with quiet pack muffler set up. Specifics of the transmission, the transmission was built for around town performance from stop light to stop light... this Single Cab pulls hard. With the addition of a freeway flyer 4th gear, this truck can cruise at freeway speeds all day long. Additional modifications in the transaxle department include the removal on the old worn reduction boxes, which were replaced and outfitted with a long axel '68 bug unit/kit. The truck has a very aggressive stance to it and is backed up by its performance. In the rear of the truck you will find a rear sway bar/camber compensator transmission mount. The truck runs, steers and stops perfectly. There is no play, shimmy or shakes on this truck what so ever. The trucks moves from stop light to stop light, but yet can cruise on the freeway all day long thanks to the Freeway Flyer 4th gear. This enables the truck to cruise at freeway speeds while keeping the RPM's down. Cab floors are solid, as is inside the dual treasure chest compartment. In the cab you will find all necessary items to keep the vitals on the truck, which include the tach, oil pressure and oil temp. Please note in one of the pictures you will see the truck idling at 800 RPM with 50 pounds of oil pressure. The engine compartment is clean and solid, as well as the battery box area. When this truck was restored everything was painted inside and out. Again, this truck was not built in someone's backyard, this truck was built professionally in a shop. You will not find another truck like this, it is truely something to see and appreciate. The truck is currently registered here in the state of California. I have a clean, clear title, registration, keys and truck in hand. Please look at the pictures I have taken carefully. If there is a picture you do not see, please ask. The truck is located here in the San Francisco Bay Area and I would be happy to show you in person. For those ebay members with zero (0) feedback score, please call me directly at 650-400-8836. Please ask any and all questions either by email or directly at 650-400-8836. Good luck on the auction and happy bidding!! On Mar-13-10 at 10:28:27 PST, seller added the following information: Hi, I wanted to add that the rear fender wells were done in a way that looks like a factory job. If Volkswagen would have radiuses the rear fender wells, this is exactly how it would have looked. These match the front wells perfectly in every way. The rolled lip in the rear match identicle to the front. It looks so nice and professionally done, most people don't relize it was a modification and not how it came from the factory. Thanks again for the interest.
