Vehicle Detail
Condition: Less Than Good, but in the right hands this car could be brought back, or be the basis for a project car. And it is a smoke-free car. Modifications: Cat-back exhaust Racing seats Strut Tower Braces front and rear HK Air induction system Halogen front headlights Problems: Biggest is an electrical issue which seems to be related to wet road conditions, in which the electrical system shorts out and the car will not start or operate. Most likely the result of removing the inner fender plastic panels as a result of oversize wheels and tires that were mounted (prior to them being stolen). Once the car dries out, the system is restored, and after a jump start, it returns to normal operation (until it gets wet again). Other major concern is the engine ticking, which seems to be a common problem with this engine. Brakes will probably need to be redone soon by a professional installer. My son replaced the pads on the fronts. Issues: Cosmetic: Guardrail racing stripe on the passenger side. Clearcoat is peeling, and the overall paint condition is showing the wear and tear of the age and mileage. A few spots of corrosion, but nothing major. Passenger’s window was broken and replaced, but the ‘racing stripe’ seems to have affected the alignment - it will seal, if you manipulate it from the outside, but as soon as the door is opened, or the window lowered, it goes back to being slightly 'popped.' Interior is worn, but serviceable. Carpeting is there, but a thorough cleaning or replacement would be welcome. Currently running snow tires on the original alloy wheels, which have been painted black. Driver’s side tires are new this season, passenger’s side are two seasons old, and the tread on the rear tire is just about gone. No spare tire. Only one key. Good news: The T-Tops seal well. The transmission and clutch are in good shape, considering the mileage. Alignment is solid, with no wobble. Not-so-good news: Registration has expired, and it was due for emissions testing in CT. We do have clear title for the car in CT. We are the second owners of the car, purchased from a dealer after the original owner traded it in. We can provide the CarFax from when we purchased it if requested. Anyone wishing to inspect the car prior to the end of the auction, please email and we will make arrangements. On Apr-19-10 at 18:51:38 PDT, seller added the following information: History: Wanted to address the report that eBay created: the accident that is listed was so minor that we honestly forgot about it, as it happened just after we got the car four years ago.My son had the car at college in Vermont, and was backing out of a parking spot when an SUV, coming the wrong way in a one-way lot, stopped behind him. He bumped the SUV, causing no damage to the Z, and a small scratch to the SUV's bumper. But the guy reported the accident.
