Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 1950 Ford F-1 Pick Up Truck Flathead V-8, with standard shift Up for auction is my all steel, F-1 short bed, fat fendered Ford in hot-rod satin black paint. Body overall is straight with new steel running boards, and new steel tailgate. The truck is mostly original, and still retains the original straight axle front end. The front and rear fenders, hood, exterior box sides, and cab are all straight without any noticeable dents or dings. The doors fit well and are also straight, with good alignment, and open and close properly. There are no issues with the frame other than typical minor surface rust, and the floor pans are solid. The weakest part of the body is the floor of the box, which has some buckling. The truck rolls on 15”- 5 lug steel wheels, baby moons, trim rings, and brand new tires. The Flat head V-8 motor was completely rebuilt by the previous owner, and runs very well with strong oil pressure. The dual exhaust gives the truck that great sound flat motors are known for. The transmission is a 3 speed standard with original floor shifter. The transmission and clutch both work fine, but the truck isn’t built for power shifting. When shifting into 2nd it is best to double-clutch. The truck starts, stops, and runs very well. Although it goes down the road fine, if you’ve never piloted one of these 60 year old trucks, by doing so you will have a greater appreciation of how much we have been spoiled with the new trucks of today. As shown in the pictures, the interior still has the turquoise dash and door panels, which was once the exterior color of the truck. The vinyl seat cover has no rips or tears. The windshield, passenger glass, and rear glass have no cracks or chips. The driver’s side window is showing some minor de-lamination but is still functional with no chips or cracks. The headlights, taillights, brake lights, speedometer work, as does the oil pressure gauge. However, the gas gauge, turn signals, and wiper do not. This truck has not been chopped, lowered, or had any conversions done to the suspension. The interior remains pretty much all stock, making it an excellent candidate to be restored to original. My plan was to leave the flathead motor in it and dress it up with aluminum heads, & intake manifold, mult-carbs, headers, etc. in keeping with old school hot rods, while leaving the body stock. You won’t be embarrassed to drive this truck just as it sits. The body has no rust holes, dings, dents, wavy bodylines, or flapping fenders. The flattened black paint wears well on this truck, and earns lots of thumbs up. Please feel free to inspect the truck, or have it inspected by an independent inspector prior to bidding. Although the truck is not perfect, it is by far one of the better F-1 Fords you will find that is complete, and ready to cruise. This Truck is offered for sale in the United States only. Any delivery costs will be the sole responsibility of the buyer. The truck is offered for sale As Is, Where Is, with no guarantee, or warranty offered or implied. I reserve the right to end this auction early as the truck is advertised locally. Thank you for your interest in this fine old truck.
