1977 PONTIAC TRANS AM 51K ACTUAL 400 V8 w/ 4 bbl 4 speed manual T-tops! WE BUILD EXCITEMENT! :) SCROLL DOWN TO SEE HIGH RES PICTURES! Due to transaction falling through again this awesome Trans Am is being relisted. Bid with confidence from an eBayer with 100% positive feedback on over 300 transactions! THIS IS THE LAST TIME THIS WILL BE OFFERED. Here it is folks! This '77 Trans Am is poetry in motion! Where can you find 'em like this? This is an amazing 2-owner Pontiac that has never been a daily work car, but rather a weekend warrior! The car has had one high quality re-spray in a marvelous black with a subtle cherry tint. There are some ghost stripes on the car that are only visible when the outdoor lighting is just right. It is all done very tastefully, and to most that see it it appears to just be black. This is a high grade paint job. I would estimate that it cost over $8000 for sure. And the car has been driven very little since it was painted. I looked to today on the front of the car and on the leading edges, and I couldn't find even one rock chip! Yeah, she's been in the garage! It's kind of a sad story as to how this muscular TA ended up in my garage. The original owner lived in Lake City, MN. In the 90's after getting this car exactly the way he wanted it, he suddenly had a heart attack and passed away. His widow kept the car in the garage for over 10 years before she decided to part with it. It appears as though the car was well-preserved during this time, as the dash has no cracks, and the interior seems to have no fading. The only wounds the car received while in the garage was from a Scotts fertilizer spreader that fell off a hook in the garage and bumped the passenger door and front passenger fender. The dents from this are small, each about golf ball sized. They may be elegible for paintless dent repair, but I can't promise that. The only other items that appear to have some wear and tear are the headliner and the driver's seat. A seam about 4" long has opened up on the driver's seat. I believe it could easily be repaired. The headliner is of a perferated mesh type that is starting to sag in spots--should be replaced. These are the modifications that I have observed that have been done to this Trans Am. They all appear to have been done professionally, and in a way that would still make it very easy to go back to original if the owner so desired. Turbo--when engaged nearly doubles horsepower NOS System--has not been used for 10-15 years; original owner was the last to use it. Tank in trunk is empty. System is intact and could be used again. 2nd owner just felt it was fast enough as is. Solid Lifters installed in place of hydraulic lifters. Lower gear ratio installed in rear end. NOS shifter installed Custom wood console installed with guage package and power window access. Add-on Electric Fuel Pump works in tandem with mechanical one. Clarion AM/FM cassette player installed in lieu of factory radio Fog lights added on--hidden behind grill. K&N Air Filter Higher performance cam--unsure of what it is. The car runs fabulously. It has more power that any car I've ever driven. And I have most all of the original paper work with it! I even have the receipt from the dealer where it was purchased in Hartford, Wisconsin. The tires and wheels have less than 500 miles on them. And it shows--just look at the pictures! Those rims could be packaged as new! If the American Racing rims are not your cup of tea, I just purchased a fabulous set of correct Snowflake Pontiac Rims that would be available as a separate purchase. Can't say enough about this car. It truly does embody the old Pontiac mantra of "We build excitement: Pontiac!" I decoded the VIN tonight, and here is what I found out: VIN: 2W87Z7N180795 From the start: The "2" stands for Pontiac; "1" would have stood for Chevy. The "W" stands for the Trans Am model of the Firebird. The "87" stands for 2-door coupe. The "Z" stands for engine code Z: 400 cid 4 bbl V8 The "7" stands for 1977. The "N" stands for Norwood Assembly Plant. The "180795" is the Production Sequence. This above VIN decode info. was obtained from www.transamworld.com I could go on and on about this car. It's really something else! Feel free to send me your questions and comments through the eBay message system. I check it often. The car comes with a big manual on the turbo and new seal for T-top. Comes with original owner's manual & receipts. Please only bid if you have the money! A deposit of $500 will be due within 48 hours of the close of the auction. The balance will be due within 7 business days. If you have an eBay rating below 5, please contact me before bidding so that I may verify your good business intentions. Enjoy the auction! I will be adding more pictures as the auction rolls along. She's a beauty! HAPPY MOTORING!
