It runs really great. It has an original Ford (V-4) industrial engine with a four speed manual transmission. It uses unleaded fuel & should really get good gas mileage. Much of the clear coat is off of (‘mostly the upper portion) of the fiberglass body, & there are a few other minor things that are synonymous with a car being stored, `such as we are already aware of the car needing brake work & replacements. Yet `overall, it would require little effort for this rare machine to be brought back to it's original state of beauty and performance. Everything is as original `as when the car was new, and considering that this was some 36 years ago’, it’s an AS IS sale. The headlight mechanism works, as seen in photos. Yet the owner believes that a micro-switch, (tripped by the opening of the headlight assembly), -needs to be repaired, re-built, or replaced with a workable alternative. The car has some electrical lack of function: The Tachometer & Speedometer are working, as was formerly the case with the likes of fuel & temp gage which likely applies to some of the ‘dummy’ lights. I said formerly because, in the words of the owner, “…everything was working, but after sitting for several months, some of it just didn’t work any more. I attributed it to possible oxidation at switch points in the wiring, like batteries will do in an unused radio or remote. There is function in the signal &hazard lights, but most of the other accessories will need troubleshooting to get everything ‘coordinated’ again. As a friend who’s merely representing the car for its owner, I think the car’s in amazing shape for what is, essentially, a rolling relic. But the owner & I’ agree, … we’re only comfortable with offering a Classic, 36 year old SAAB that you can get in’, …count on to Start & run steady’, …put her’ in gear & d r i v e , ~ but you’ll need a parachute to STOP it !
