Known affectionately as the ‘Square Bird” This particular body style was only produced for 3 years and represents the first of the larger bodied T-birds, the introduction of the 2 door hardtop, and the first departure from the 2 seat roadsters produced from 55 to 57. This 1960 Thunderbird is a one owner car and comes with nearly all the original paperwork, receipts, window sticker and the meticulous collection of just about everything that has ever been done to it since it was purchased before it was parked in the 70's. The T-Bird has 89,607 original miles and ran perfectly and was last driven in 1979, but has been sitting since then and will will need the usual restoration for a car of this age and condition. It has been at their house in Pasadena, CA where it spent it's entire existence, until last week when I moved it to Orange County, about 45 minutes away. The car was always covered until about two years ago when a tree branch fell on it and as you can see in the photos, cracked the windshield, drivers window, convertible top hinge/frame, put a small dent the front fender and one on the back towards the fin. The tires were flat and it rested on gravel for several years which caused the floor pans to rust, but brand new replacements can be purchased for approximately $86.00 each, rocker panels for $46.00 each and a brand new convertible top is approx. $200.00 at Larry's Thunderbird and Mustang Parts. Check out their web site for the prices, or the other companies that sell such items. http://www.larrystbird.com/index.html I'd planned to purchase a less expensive hard top and switch over the windshield and other parts needed, but realized if it was going to stripped, painted and restored, almost everything needed can be purchased online from companies which make complete interiors, convertible tops, floor panels, etc. brand new. But I have too many projects and decided to sell it to someone who will restore it to its former condition in the colors and specifics of their choosing. Personally, I wanted to paint it black because of the amazing, manta ray styled front end and original bat mobile style fins, however, this is a matching numbers car, so it is worth more if kept in the original colors, etc. It has the original Sky Mist Blue paint. Cruise o Matic, Magicaire Heater, Console Radio, Tinted Glass, Fender Skirts, Power Lift Windows, 4 Way Power Front Seat, etc. and was purchased on January 16, 1960 as it says on all the paperwork. Yes it comes with the original air cleaner, I took it off to better show the engine and carburetor in the photographs. This car is being sold as is and must be picked up in Orange County, CA or the buyer must make arrangements to have it shipped.
