Vehicle Detail
Im selling my 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo (951). I purchased it in 2012 with 74,000 miles. It was a North Texas / South Oklahoma its whole life until i purchased it. Its never been in snow or seen salt. COMPLETELY RUST FREE. I have stored it every winter and maintained it through the summers. I have invested a total of $14,000 in the 6 years I have owned it. Cosmetically I have not done much to the car. I added a Luisi Racing Wheel and put Porsche mats in. However, the passenger side mat is missing. I love the car the way it looks stock so I left it like that. The money I spent on the car was all vehicle maintenance. A quick summery of what i have done to the car starts with the timing belt, water pump, and rollers and updated the A/C unit right after I bought it. Shortly after i replaced fuel lines and the master and slave cylinders. I replaced all the vacuum lines, spark plugs and Distributor cap (a full tune up), J-boot, Ignition Coil. Basically everything to make it run like a new car. I replaced the rear CV axles. I never replace the Exhaust because its not rusted out. I've done all of the front and rear engine seals and the radiator had a leak and I replaced that with a new one. I had the car chipped to add more horsepower. Id say its around 250 hp safely. THERE ARE SO MANY MORE THINGS I'VE DONE TO THIS CAR THAT I CANT EVEN REMEMBER. I have receipts for everything done to the car and everything was done by a trained Porsche Master Technician (John Jennens owner of The Car Port). I replaced the clutch (everything except the clutch fork) 4 years ago. I drove it for almost two years and then the clutch stopped working. Come to find out the clutch fork had broken. The clutch fork is the only thing you dont replace on a clutch job with these cars. There are no replacement parts. So you can either find one off a parts car (another turbo) or have a regular 944 clutch fork re manufactured. I had one re manufactured because there was readily available. I drove it these last couple of years and at the end of the summer I began to hear a noise coming from the clutch area. I drove it home and I noticed that when i was engaging the clutch is when it was making noise. Once it is rolling there is no noise. I parked it for a couple weeks then took it out on the road again for a half hour and it was still doing the same thing so I parked it. That was in September. I already put a couple grand into the car last spring doing the timing belt, pump and rollers AGAIN, replaced the radiator and did front and rear engine seals (as mentioned above) at the same time. Needless to say I don't want to mess with the clutch or torque tube or whatever it is that is making that noise. I bought a 2004 BMW 330ci last year and I have decided to make that my summer fun car and move on from the 951. The paint is good except for chipping on hood (pictured) and bumper has a chipping as well. The car includes the original steering wheel and Porsche Car cover and a extra spare tire. I think the car is worth $9,000 to $10,000 all day but I realize that what ever issue is causing that noise will need to be addressed. So I'm putting a great price on this beautiful car which won best 944 turbo at 944 Fest 2012 (Trophy comes with car) and I know someone will make this their fun fast summer car. Good Luck first come first serve. Message me if you have any other questions. Thanks Mike
