I am forced to sell due to job relocation outside of USA. So my well-loved travel companion must go to a new home and loving owner. This bike is a blast. It handles likes a sport bike, is comfortable like a standard, powerful like a rocket and reliable. The three position electronically adjustable suspension (soft to firm) plus the two selections for load (with or without passengers and luggage) allow you to tune the ride to exactly what you are doing with a push of as button while you are riding. Add on the electrically adjustable windshield, heated grips and heated seats and you can be comfortable anytime and in any weather. There is a reason this has always been a celebrated bike - it is really amazing. Easy to ride, powerful, sporty or cushy depending upon your mood. It truly hurts to sell it but I know you will love it as I have and since work forces me to leave the USA the bike has to have a new home. FAIR WARNING THIS BIKE MAY CAUSE MARITAL OR GIRLFRIEND ISSUES!!!! HERE's WHY - every time my wife asks me to go to the store to pick something up and I take the bike I end up taking a little "detour" and go 100 miles to the "nearest" store at the end of winding roads! This bike is a magical witch and can cause you to do that too! Thank heaven the top speed is around 130MPH that helps when you realize you've been gone two hours "going around the corner to the store." Anyway, I digress, this is an amazing sport touring bike - fast, comfortable, reliable and has only 24,000 miles which on a BMW is just getting broken in. Bike is in great shape & runs perfectly. Heavily optioned with what I think were probably all the options BMW offered that year including electronically adjustable suspension (load and #of riders), Electronically adjustable windscreen, ABS, Heated Seats, Heated Grips, Cruise control and BMW factory trickle charger. Of course all the "Standard" options are present and accounted for - matching side saddlebags, electrically boosted brakes (really helps for a bike that seems to be part rocket and can hit 130MPH!) The bike is stock except I added a brand-new CALSCI windshield (note how crystal clear it is in the pictures) and a ball to mount a cell phone holder or navigation system to the handlebars. Has brand-new BMW battery. Not the cheap "OEM" or "just like" batteries but an actual BMW battery from the dealer. I believe in factory parts and service even though they are more expensive and the bike has always been maintained by a BMW dealer. As for the windshield it was clouded which is why I replaced it. I liked the CALSCI windshield better than the stock BMW one. You are welcome to that old windshield if you want it. The bike does have minor cosmetic issues normal for a 12 year old bike and two small non=-cosmetic issues. As for the cosmetics there are some scratches and minor scrapes from age - see pictures - I tried to take pictures of any and all issues. The bike did fall over once from being bumped by a guy parallel parking which made some scratches in the fairing (right fairing I took pics so you can see them), there is some surface discoloration on the tail pipe, light surface rust in on the black painted parts of the handlebars & one dent in front rim. Plus a little white coloration in the back of the right side mirror and a chip on the front fender, and the clear film on the fairing (in front of where your knees go) is slightly discolored and bubbled (see photo). All the cosmetic issues are minor and I would be surprised if any 2006-era bike does not have much worse. The only mechanical issues are the dent in the front wheel (does not cause air leakage or any issues but does exist), the steering lock no longer locks (ignition works fine and steering lock has not worked for years) and I broke off the plastic "emergency" key in the lock under the back license plate. I have thus far been unable to remove that stubborn broken part of the key but the seat is released and the key has not caused any problems. I am sure with patience you can fish it out but I was not successful in doing so. The bike has 24,291 miles on it right now. Due to cold weather that should not change but if there are warm days it might have another few miles on it when you get it. The bikes also has a little discoloration from one small section the engine case - you can see it in the close up of the right side of the engine. I have no idea what that is but I can tell you it does not leak when bike is running or cause any issues but I took a pic so you can judge for yourself. I need to sell this bike because I am moving first week in March. $1,000 deposit required within 3 days of end of auction (can be PayPal) and I need cash or cleared funds into my bank account before giving you the bike. The bike is free and clear. Bike ships from Philadelphia PA or you can pick it up. I will help with shipping by meeting a hauler but you will need to set up the shipping and pay for it. Tires are good (no idea "tread depth) but they look fine. This is a great bike and it breaks my heart to sell it - but my boss says "go abroad to work" and I am going. Exporting the bike proved too complicated for me so I cannot take her with me. But my loss can be your gain. And as stated this is an "absolute auction" and the bike is being sold. And due to my time restraints bike must be paid for and picked up by March 1.
