Vehicle Detail
1978 Ford F250 Ranger SurvivorOriginal Paint Wheels TrimNew Interior Uphostery1970 429 Thunder JetPS PB AT Tilt Final price drop. Up for auction is my ultra-cool survivor paint "patina" hot rod 1978 Ford F250 Ranger. Still wearing its' original Dark Brown Metallic & Nectarine Metallic two-tone paint, she's got cool to spare in the looks department. Original steel wheels and poverty caps further the sleeper look. Under the hood she's got a strong-running 1970 429 Thunder Jet D0VE-C engine. This is one of the best engines Ford ever built... very similar to the 429 Cobra Jet, and only made for a few years. Additional features include a factory Tilt steering column, Power Steering, and Power Brakes, along with a sturdy receiver hitch and trailer wiring. The previous (second) owner pulled the lack-luster 400 Modified engine and transplanted the bad-boy 429 in its' place to tow his horse trailer. Which it did in style. The original paint has been polished and waxed, and while showing patina and thin paint in areas, still looks fantastic in my opinion. The windshield is new, as is the gasket. The dash was painted and the dash pad professionally dyed while the glass was out. The balance of the interior is restored and/or new, including re-dyed headliner and sun visors, new door panels, new carpet, and new seat upholstery, along with new door sill plates. The interior is beautiful, as you can see. The truck runs and drives soundly; not a new vehicle by any stretch, but a solid driver that looks exceptional as a survivor. No cancer or overt rust presenting; minor surface rust in the bed and presumably in other areas as well. Mileage showing is 48k and change; I must presume that it is 148k in actuality. Clear title in hand, matches VIN exactly for export, inspection, etc. Sold exactly as-is; this is a 40-year-old classic, and while a great truck, you should expect minor issues now or later as associated with any survivor vehicle of this era. Please be prepared to remit payment in full within 3 days of auctions' end via deposit into my Bank of America account, bank wire transfer, or cash in person. Feel free to call Tim with any questions you may have at 360-936-9257. The truck is located in Vancouver, Washington 98661. I can help coordinate shipping if that helps you, although the choice of carrier must ultimately be yours alone. I reserve the right to end the auction early as I have the truck listed locally as well.
