Vehicle Detail
For sale: 1990 Porsche 944S2 CabrioletRare convertible version of the venerable 944, with only 1824 shipped to the US in 1990. Guards Red w/ Linen and Black interior, black top. 5-Speed with RARE factory LSD (on options list, is original to the car) ABS, dual air bags. Runs great, have done various upgrades to the car in the year or so I have had it. Runs strong. The good:NO dash cracksNew seats- Linen with custom black piping- Back seats replaced with used proper color OEM Porsche storage shelf (VERY hard to find-$2000 new)New carpet-proper German velourCustom Lloyd front mats with "944S2" embroideryNew inner door skins (not yet installed)New leather on steering wheelNew leather shift bootNew-ish top. Window is clear, no rips, tearsNew Kenwood BT player with iPhone cord in center consoleElectric top operation disabled to operate as a manual top. If you know anything about '90s Porsche electric tops, this is a good thing.Instrument panel updated with LED lights and new reflective foil (Originals are VERY dim)OEM Cup 2 wheels with brand new Continental DWS06 tiresNew radiatorNew coolant expansion tank New hosesNewer water pumpUpgraded shifterNew shifter linkage (short shift)New Dansk Sport polished stainless exhaust system...deeper tone and not brassyRecent tune up, All fluids replaced with synthetics where appropriateThe bad:Clear coat peeling in some areas- pictured. Previous owner had it painted at some point.A couple of rust spots- picturedSome road rash on nose160K milesSmall oil leak CV boots split and leakingNo documentation on belts or clutch, PO said done 30K ago.A/C is anemic and needs to be converted to R134.I may be forgetting something...also have some spare parts that will of course go with the car as well as all of the factory service manuals. It was my intention to keep this car and finish it's restoration...I did a lot of searching until I found this one (back in the Pacific NW where we just moved from) with the color combo and options I was looking for. They are rare, you don't see many on the road, and are increasing in value, but still affordable at the moment. I'd like to see it go to a good home. This is one of many Porsches I have owned over the years and is a fun car to drive. Thanks for reading...more pics upon request. Priced accordingly for miles and condition.
