Vehicle Detail
Rare '51 Statesman with fold down beds.Stored inside for 15 years. Car is from South Dakota and is not too rusty, but the left frame rail needs some attention. Started to get it roadworthy when title was lost. Have a xerox only. Bill of Sale only. Very complete, missing air cleaner, horn button, a few other items. Was running (poorly) when purchased 15 yrs ago. Needed carb rebuilt and brakes went to floor. Suspension and brake work begun, its a roller.Windshield, door windows, grille cracked. Left blinker glass broken. Some garage rash evident but in nice shape! Great restoration or rod project! Car is for sale locally as well. On Dec-17-18 at 18:02:10 PST, seller added the following information: This is a car I bought 15 years ago online and was taken. Supposedly a running, driving car withminor work needed, I received a car with a mismatched wheel, gas pouring from the carb,no brakes, mushy suspension etc. Looked like an Earl Shieb paint job over the body, engine, etc.Started to make it roadworthy- got some suspension and brake work done- the title was lost by the company registering it for me. It went into the garage in disgust with my poor luck. Now I am de- Nashing. This car is NOT rust free, just not bad. Analysis: Solid upper trunk and spare well. Small hole in lower trunk not extending to sides, easy fix. Solid door bottoms, rear floor pans, rockers, right frame rail, fenders, hood. Rust-base of front jams, not into the sides,3 inches max, fixable. left rail- weak, has rot with holes, but again looks repairable. rear under chrome strip- rotted ,both sides, repair starting to show, again fixable. Structural integrity intact!Rarity makes it worth of restoration or rodding.
